To be fair the only part that's printed is the lower and the dimensions are already layed out. VS designing a 50 BMG from scratch that doesn't spontaneously explode killing the operator is a lot more challenging

The AK50 has been done for months, now it’s the release video that’s delaying the unveiling. Brandon said it will be a high budget video because the official release is such a big deal. It’s basically what made his channel take off, and it has been such a long time in the making, he wants the video to do both the community, and the AK50 justice

PSA: I heard Mark Serbu discovered a fatal flaw in the design of these uppers (which are made in slightly different designs by a few manufacturers). Apparently he made thousands of dollars as an expert witness when someone sued one of the manufacturers. They all have the same flaw, which can end with the bolt flying out. The design has never been fixed and it carried over into the other clones. And these do not need a ridiculously hot round for that to happen.
What's the flaw
From what I've been told the bolt lugs are too long so they are loaded in bend too much, rather than mostly shear. It's because of the design, where a bushing behind them requires too much material removed from the diameter effectively lengthening them.
@@DC_DC_DC_DCjust looked it up, mark does have a video out analyzing the failures on these uppers.

10:28 after 3d arms shoots where you can see the crack forming along a layer line in the internal corner of the lower where the upper receiver buts against the "buffer tube tower"
14:01 where PSR is first shouldering the stock you can see the crack has opened as PSR loads in the bipod.
14:41 during the shot the crack is open a little bit
17:36 as PSR shoulder fires, you can see the crack has really opened up further
19:20 3d arms and PSR are explaining how the embedded steel rod is reinforcing through the crack, so i can stop worrying about anybody nearly needing a thumb.
the entirety of the pressure of the round going off is held inside the purchased upper receiver. Nothing squirted is containing the explosion whatsoever.
@@MBDieselFreakif the stock/lower disintegrates, you could possibly damage your hands, arms, upper body, and/or head and neck, not from an explosion, but rather from the massive chunk of steel and sharp plastic shards that is now unsupported and moving towards you
@@Aikano9 Mass plays a big factor in mitigating recoil. For example, my Noreen ULR has surprisingly little recoil compared with most of my other bolt guns despite the Noreen being chambered in .50 BMG and my other rifles being chambered in more affordable calibers. If you're worried about the well-being your tender face and feminine hands you can always add mass to the upper receiver in order to protect yourself from potentially being harmed by broken plastic.

That's just the stock, the bolt's fine. It's not gonna explode. The whole bolt assembly might fly over the stock into the shooter's head with recoil though, once the crack separates the two.

Every guntuber with a .50 has done these reactive target tests before, and they’ve likely seen the videos themselves, it’s their virgin joy being expressed at doing it themselves in real life that makes these reactions so good!

i am curious. Do you mean at 14:22 when he released it from the chamber? Does it have a chance of igniting outside the chamber? OR do you mean when he shot it after?
A light strike can indeed still ignite. Not always, not even close, but it CAN and it's no bueno if it does. Very dangerous.
Light primer strikes have been known to ignite many seconds later, so it's best to wait a bit.
You could probably make a sturdier monopod by using a big construction bolt and putting a hex nut in the bottom of the stock to thread it into. You could print a cover for the bottom of the bolt so it's more comfy to twist
Use TPU to make a nice little foot for it
As well as making a screwhole in the buttstock and have the rubbercover be thicker so it covers the screw.

With what? The plastic parts are there for show. They have no effect on anything that has any pressure. And his gun was a completely different gun, AND was using special ammo.

Even though the upper of a regular AR is not serialized the ATF has determined that 50 cal uppers have to be serialized btw.
If the ATF created laws legally, we might start to care. However, they were never given the authority
