As others have said, I love how you want to find the meaning of a song. And as someone who's basically grown up with this band (and song), you really gave me a new perspective on it! I've myself always thought it might be about someone passing away, but your thought of it being about change in life is lovely! Surely makes the song feel about more hopeful. The band has said that their songs are melancholic, but that there is often a glimppse of hope in them. And I think you managed to find that hope in this one! Loved hearing your thoughts :)
It is art, it can mean anything. Deep insight from you, in my opinion. Thank You for making me see an old video in a new way. Now being a parent already is making me really vote for your interpretation...
@@infin8reactions I went to check the lyrics of In the Shadows... makes sense. In the shadows "I've been watching, I've been waiting / In the shadows for my time" and No fear starts "You lived your life like a sleeping swan / Your time has come --" - I'd like to think that it is about not waiting for the right time but starting to live now - fearlessly - even though it would not be easy.
Night After Night (Out Of The Shadows) is pretty much an 'answer' to In The Shadows, at least in motif I suppose, as well as the intro lines. In The Shadows: No sleep until I'm done with finding the answer Won't stop before I find a cure for this cancer Night After Night (Out Of The Shadows): Heaven sent you, to bring the answer Heaven sent you, to cure this cancer
I've been watching your videos about The Rasmus and I have to say that I love how you put an effort to find a meaning to their songs. By the way, this song is, in my opinion, one of their best ones EVER. And its album (Hide from the sun) is definitely my favourite one. That album is a concentration of poetry and musical maturity. It's a very dark album, but it's magical. I have very beautiful memories of that era (2005), and The Rasmus was such an important part of it. I suggest you react to "Sail Away": it's truly a masterpiece of them. To me, "No Fear" talks about a girl who has been suffering her entire life from some kind of incurable illness ("You've lived your life like a sleeping swan") but now death has finally come to relieve her pain ("The final journey has just begun ", "Your destiny chose the Reaper"). Lauri tells her not to feel fear, that everything is going to be allright, that the pain she has felt until now ("Rain falls down from the northern skies , like poisoned knives, with no mercy") will eventually fade once she dies ("Close your eyes for the one last time, sleepless nights from here to eternity"). Such a beautiful way to portray death.
The lyrics are a bit confusing, but propably you got the meaning right 😅 Glad you enjoy this journey, they still have many great and different songs you need to hear!
I think it's depression and suicide. That's great about lyrics, you can interpret them anyway...that's why i don't really care about them....i'm about the music!
Brilliant song and band.
Great one Lee. Another great band. 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Love these guys mate 😁👌

I love how different people's interpretations can change anothers perception of the song!! Cheers Lars
I love Ylönen's voice, it is somehow caressing. - Somebody, somewhere said this song is the answer to the song *In the shadows*.
He has an amazing voice, interesting theory about in the shadows 😁
