Remarkable ! Sorry I am not able to comment in German but your way of speaking is so good that I understood almost all. And I could not agree more with all what you said. The discovery of those « war » sonatas was one of the most mind-opening moments in my music loving life. Congratulations for standing strong and letting people discover it and explaining it so that they be ready to receive it. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much! Indeed there is so much to discover in that sonata, and I wanted to share these insights with my live audience as well as with everyone here on TH-cam. All the best!
You are very generous to share those insights. There is also the Cliburn Masterpiece which does a similar sharing as yours for sonata #8. One can only marvel at the absolute genius of Prokofiev, in my view unequalled to express the constant fear and anguish of that sad period in human history. All three war sonatas express those feelings in an amazing manner.
Sehr gerne.
I was thunderstruck by it when I first heard it in the 80s. And then over the years I moved on to other things - and for some decades even forgot its name until a few weeks ago when I stumbled on it because the subject matter was music in 7/8 time. And so I was struck by thunder yet a second time!
Yes, "struck by thunder" is a good way to put into words what happened to me as well. I heard the last movement in a youth competition in Germany (amazing!), and a little later I heard the whole sonata on vinyl played by Pollini. Incredible!
Super introduction. I greatly admire sonatas 6 and 8 (especially 8), but 7 has always been a challenge for me. You have helped to make more sense of it.

Wunderbar.

Good to hear that, thanks. This encourages me to keep on those introductions. In a couple of months, there is Schumann's Carnaval to come.
@@meisterpianist Terrific! I shall look forward to that. 👍
I wish I was in the audience! Splendid introduction before the grotesque sonata.
Thank you so much! I wish I could perform the sonata - with introduction - in Korea. We will see :-)
