  • I ordered a set of CT Sounds )zone 12s and build a custom enclosure for them. These are brand new on the market and I've liked other CT products in the past so I figured i'd try these!

    I ran 2 12" OZONES, 1200w Skar amp & in a vent box. Box tune wasnt right for woofers.But it blurred your vision a Lil bit from the bass🤯 Next time it will all be matched with tuning.CTs are amazing!

    • @ATCA
      @ATCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The important thing is area. I calculated mine by using the area of a 4" ×2. Not an 8" or anything like that. It was like 5.xx" diameter equivalent

      @@ATCA ok sir. Ok the given is this like yours 4”. If we used two ports? Is it the same measurement about the length of two ports? Ex. The port we used is 4” and the apps give 8”lenght for the specific hz. Is it both port are 8” lentht or 8devide by 2= 4” lentgh per port? Whay i am asking for is the lenght of the 2 port. Coz i have a limited box size . Then about the area i have not conflict. The port lentgh. Coz i used two port not 1port…. Or do you have ang messneger sir?

    • @ATCA
      @ATCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akolngto9314 no.
      So basically 4" round is 12.56 of area
      So 2 of them is 25.12 of area.
      So in software, calculate for fir 25.12" of area, or about 5.75" diameter pipi.
      If its a 5.75" pipe, 10" long. You can use 2x 10" long 4" diameter pipe

  • @markvveinotte1766
    @markvveinotte1766 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m confused? Spec sheet says each sub needs 32 square inches of port area per sub. Your not even close with 2-4”. Aren’t u supposed to double port area for 2 subs?

    • @ATCA
      @ATCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No sir. You dont actually double the port area. There's actu a formula and the formula basically comes down to 16 inches per cuft net. So a 2 cuft box needs 32 inches. This enclosure has 1.6 cuft and 25 inches of port area. Its about right. The port area on the website is based on software for top performance, i guess. Not sure it really applies

    • @markvveinotte1766
      @markvveinotte1766 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ATCA interesting. Does port area actually change with aero ports meaning efficiency and less area? I’m hoping 1-6” port will work with 2-12’s in a 3.3 cubic ft enclosure?

    • @ATCA
      @ATCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@markvveinotte1766 so. The area per each port does change when it comes to calculations. Round is more efficient when it comes to tuning, not so much when it comes to area for the woofer. I do round and slot ports the same. 16 per cuft. Also, this is a good baseline that happens to work very well. Smaller port will help stabilize the woofer. Bigger port can be louder but you risk destabilizing the woofer. So 16 is a great middle ground that many builders use. Do the math with 16 per cuft and i think youll find it to be a sound starting point ;) i round up or down a small amount sometimes depending on the build. Example: 2x 12s might get 40 if it calls for 38. Or might do 20 on a single 10 if it calls for 24. It all comes doen to overall design and 16 is a great starting point.
