- Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you my new pedal harp. It is a Salvi Daphne 47 SE in mahogany with a custom butterfly decoration soundboard. I'm so in love.

It's like a vertical piano without keys - I can only imagine the coordination you need to play one of those😳. Really cool😊.
haha yes! And I play piano a bit too, so it does take a bit of brain work to think of it vertically, and then you use your feet on the pedals to change to a sharp or flat! So now I use another body part and a whole other part of my brain! It's fun though. I enjoy the challenge.
@@RebbecaWertz Fun if you're good at it😄! The only music you'd hear from me, is: "What the fuuuuuuu.......🤬?!!!". Harps and hurdy gurdys😑! _That_ level of coordination would take a while to kick in.
Watching someone play a harp does feel familiar, though, like I'm reliving something🤔. Hope we get to hear your new harp soon😊!
@@ahyesverygood1336 hahahah! This cracked me up! Yes, hoping to do some recording soon!
Congratulations, it’s beautiful! Marilyn Costello played a Salvi Diana with the Philadelphia Orchestra. When she retired, the other harpists didn’t want it so the orchestra sold it. I have a Lyon & Healy. But since there’s so much hand work in a harp, I’m not loyal to any brand. All harps are unique.
How much did it cost and where did you purchase It?
I paid around $18k (shipping included) because I had an employee discount when I worked at a harp store. It would probably be more around $19-20k (after taxes and shipping cost) and the wait time for it to be built at Lyon & Healy was a year because it was custom and the delays with COVID and wood supplies.
Cheers 🌱Sending hugs and healing energy.
When I got my Salvi Diana in the 1970’s it came in a huge heavy wood box. Your harp is beautiful
Right? And then you have to find a way to use that wooden box - second wardrobe? LOL
Absolutely beautiful. Now you have had it for 7 months could you do a review video? Thinking of getting the same harp and wondering how it compares with others you have played.
Great idea! It's still an amazing harp and holds tune so well. The sound is rich and warm. Only 3-4 strings have broken. It really is amazing. :D
