    I have a KTM RC8, do you remember how to connect the remote start wires ?

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Scorpio is probably the best of the best... But so far since January I have had no problems. I park my bike next to a night club and people used to touch my bike, lean on it, and a few times got on it to take pictures. Since I have had the alarm, it has prevented all that from happening. The rain triggers the microwave sensor..and the LED light sometimes stays on but I think it's my fault. All in all it's awesome. I've installed four on my friends bike already:)

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Scorpio is by far the best but also the most expensive. This alarm has worked flawlessly every time. I park it in front of clubs.. when ppl stand too close.. it gives a warning signal and it vibrates my remote. Rain is a pain with the proximity sensor but thats common with most alarms. I would recommend this.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @kawaskins ... it is always recommended to use a battery tender if you're not riding for weeks or more... but the alarm uses very little battery consumption... it depends on the charge of your battery.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quite honestly, this is a 1st for me. I have since this video installed 40+ alarms on mostly Hondas... they are probably the most easiest bikes to install this alarm on. Other than one unit being bad from the factory.. there hasn't been issues like the one you have described. Double check your installation. Make sure your unit is properly grounded.

    this is because when the key is turned it connects two wires to power, one wire which runs direct to the cdi and the other which powers ignition circuit and electrics. you have one brown wire which you currently have tapped into the later wire, but youll need to also extend that power to the cdi wire too

  • @dazzelya
    @dazzelya 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just installed this on my Blackbird. I have another SPY (without a pager) on my other bike so installing it was a breeze but as I was wondering about the brown wire. Did you connect it (the one you connect to the ignition on wire). I don't like the reminder beep when you turn off the ignition so I cut the write. However, the led light doesn't reset itself if the alarm has gone off. I also don't like the auto re-arm.Other than the the alarm is great and the range is terrific.

    beautiful bike bishop.... I know you said in the video that you did not hook up the remote start function , but do you know is there any safety features the prevent someone just rolling away without a key? will it start in the wheel lock position? or is something like i have in my truck that when you touch the clutch or brake it dies? please give feed back , and again , love your bike very clean.....

  • @flipmode00

    @bishop6 how many perimeter sensor do you have on it? cuz i have only 1,if you do how many, and how and where did you connected them. I didn't know you could install 2?
    guess I will have to change my sensor position now cuz I've seen ppl touch the bike and alarm didn't go off, by the way I have tried to set the sensitivity on my alarm but nothing happen??
    tks, you did a good job in this post, tks for your help also.

  • @bishop6

    I am still using the alarm.. I have the flashing lights hooked to my LED street glow effect lights and it's insane!! Have no issues after Jan. 2011

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @pctureperfct ... yes.... the remote pager vibrates and rings... it's loud but not very loud... I'm not a deep sleeper and it vibrates on my desk.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @blurei4 : umm.. the microwave sensor has only one possible connection.. check the end of the wire on the sensor.. it can ONLY attach to one of the plugs on the main unit.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @burtecin - I wouldn't say lower version.. it's the original version. I've upgraded with the suspension, club race kit, o2 sensor, re mapping, etc.

  • @Zukes454

    @Maui330 the 5000m means the amount of distance that the remote will detect any attempted theft or harm, remote will work up until about 50m, any further than that and arming, disarming, and remote starting wont work

  • @flipmode00
    @flipmode00 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    can you make a video on how to reprogram the alarm using both remote.

    I had this alarm around a year and a half now and I always keep the remote attached to the key, have done since day - I use it as a mini clock for my bike :) - not had any issues yet.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @themomo6710:Tilt sensor is not needed. THe proximity sensor covers the seat area.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only way I can think of adding an extra sensor if tapping into the existing sensor. The unit doesn't have extra slots to plug in "extra" accessories. The siren is pretty standard so I'm assuming you can plug in an after market siren of you don't like the the original one. Keep in mind the chirpping I'd only the warning. The actual siren gets louder and changes tones.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The color changes based on the "trigger" (when the alarms goes off) It's not that you can manually change the colors.

    Can you set up the remote start to only work if you have the bike in neutral? That way if you forget and leave it in gear, when you hit the remote to start the bike it won't do anything ?

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    The micro wave aka proximity sensor is included. You can toggle it on or off using the remote. To adjust the sensitivity use the dial on the sensor itself. You have to play with it to adjust it to your needs. Rain makes it alarm but that happens with every brand. Try to install it near plastic more than metal. The less metal interfearance, the better.

  • @YuJay
    @YuJay 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you turn the vibration sensor off and keep the Proximity sensor on?
    It's quiet windy in the UK, and we have a lot of chavs with obnoxious exhausts which sets off my current alarm..

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @PetaBread27 .... using locks is ok.... the cover will not affect the microwave sensor either.

    I bought this alarm, asked the bikeshop to put it on for me unfortunately its nowhere as sensitive as yours. the shock alarm only works when I hit the rear of my bike around the rear seat, the microwave sensor only works when i sit on the bike.
    Do you have any suggestion I can move the brain/microwave sensor around? Also which one is the front and rear of the microwave alarm? Is it the side with the sensor sensitivity adjuster? Or the one without it?
    Also the bike shop refuse to connect the CDI wire because they claimed that there were users who spoilt their CDI with the alarm system and they dont wanna risk their business. What do you think?
    P.S i'm riding a 06 YZF-R6

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    the micro wave sensor on ALL ALARMS will go off when it rains.. There is a feature on the remote that lets u disable the micorwave sensor. the screen on your remote should look like this : [CD] if it's blinking it means its armed if it's not blinking, it's off.

    i will try this tomorrow, in my Rc8 white, i hope find the cables of the signal lights, where u taked that??? 😁😁

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    BTW.... When ur not sure about what wire to connect/cut/or splice... i used a razor to cut a little of the plastic off the bikes wires to expose the wire underneath. Prehistoric as it sounds.. It works. A cheap multi-meter from Radio Shack helps too.

  • @olexvol9249
    @olexvol9249 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey. How to disable arming reminder? I did not find this information in the instructions.

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I fumbled with that for awhile and decided to just cut and splice. I used the western union method (google it) and on some wires I used quick connects in case I wanted to unplug them. Use whats best for you. The T-taps hi read aren't too reliable.

    is the remote pager loud enough to wake you up if something is happening to your bike at night while you are sleeping?
    what about is someone cuts the alarm out from the bike? will the alarm go off?

  • @wakajaw
    @wakajaw 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The remotes are a bit sub par too,
    - the remote battery cover is taken out too easily I see a wear problem in the future and will have to resort to tape to keep it together
    - although new I notice dirt already showing on the display (no rubber membrane display insulation)

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    double check your wiring connections.. sounds like you have a short or another wire "touching" something exposed. The blinkers use only the two stock wires associated with your turn signals.
    Let me know how it goes.

    thanks in advance!

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @SickK8GSXR600 : Yeah, it sounds like its a wiring issue. If yo have a voltage meter, you can try that or just check the connections. I'm running two LED lights ( spliced together) and have had zero problems. Make sure your wires aren't pinched somewhere if the connection seems good. A cheap voltage meter will help in that regards.
    Good luck.

    Hi,
    I also have this alarm.Its ok but my rane iss only 120 metres which is totally shit. I ave my antenna in the back seat.A few questions-
    Is the antenna waterproof? As you have it attached to frame,
    Is it a good idea to ave the antenna there as the thief can just cut the wires?
    I wass told to keep my antenna away from metal as it blocks it?

  • @wakajaw
    @wakajaw 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    overall it has been working ok. You can feel it is a battery drainer even with the prox sensor disconnected fro mthe plug. But no wonder as it has quite a comms range to the remote.
    The single most lacking feature is the impossibility of turning off the auto re-arm, its time is way too short (about 20 secs?)
    funny enough on a few time if you turn off the alarm then right away turn off again twice in rapid succession it does not re-arm, but I´m still trying to confirm this experiment

  • @bishop6
    @bishop6  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    auto arm is a built in feature and can't be deactivated. BUT you can turn work around it. Simply once it autoarms.. disarm it with the remote, and start your bike for a one second then turn off ur bike. the autoarm won't come on again.

    I have a problem with my remote controller. I took off the battery of my remote control en then put it again in it.
    The problem that I'm facing now is that there's no connection between my remote control and the "unit". When I push on a button of my remote control nothing happens except for the beep-sound on my remote control. There are also no stripes of the signal strength on my remote.
    Could you please tell me what is going wrong?

    the screw on the unit is for sensitivity. Sounds like maybe ur proximity sensor is in a bad location.

    @JDarrII : that feature is determined (only) by your bikes settings. most bikes won't start if it's in gear. some bikes won't start but the engine cranks (enough that the bike can lurch forward enough for it to come off the kick stand)
    Honestly, most people don't usually have issues, but I hate leaving my bike parked in neutral that's why I don't use auto start. SF had tooo many hills.
