This is absolutely stunning! What a great example of a family who cares about their loved one's mental illness! And Kevin- WOW! I can only hope to become a social worker or advocate in the mental health field and change lives like he does! THIS IS AMAZING!! I vote for a full length feature!!!!!!!!!!

This brought me to tears. "It's easier to get a gun than proper mental health." Word.

Thank you for this documentary. It delivers an important message, that mentally ill people are in need of better treatment. Also the complex disorder of Bipolar. It is inspiring to see Kevin recover and help others 💜

So happy for you Kevin and glad to see you are speaking out. Great documentary!! Wish you could help my son. His ordeal is very similar to yours... however, if I had more money and political power, maybe I could get my sons case appealed. He meant no harm to anyone. My son, Dwayne Hicks, continues to be denied release from the broken mental health/criminal justice system. He did not qualify for treatment prior to the nonviolent innocent incident that occurred in November 2012. He only went in a basement - then they falsified and amended the original arrest warrant to keep him locked up until God knows when. Please help or ask Jennifer Lawrence if she would get in touch with Dwayne. He is an involuntary, compliant resident at SWVMHI in Marion, VA. He is learning about peer support and wants to be a councelor, and/or peer support specialist when and if they ever let him go. He understands that he has bipolar, and has went through so many episodes of mania and depression since he was a teenager. I know he is only one individual, but he is in dire need of assistance from someone who understands the Virginia disability laws and how the system works. Also, I am asking your for help, not just for him, but for his son and daughter. They only get to see him once a month or less often, and do not have their mother either. Thank you!! Sincerely, Diana
