So is the bonzai a more similar disc to the passion?
I’d still say the Passion is closer to a Pipeline, as it doesn’t hold up into a wind like a Banzai. I’d say the Passion flies like a very well loved Banzai. One that is best to super straight or has lost some of its late stability.
I know you like discraft but have you tried a pyro mine carves the NC woods from 260ft to I took out the zone bc pyro fits in my hand better. I use pig 2
I have not tried one! If there comes a day I’m not restricted to one brand I’ll have to take a look!

Isn't the Passion a remake of the original XS?
It was definitely inspired by the XS. To me it feels like the Cyclone and XS had a baby. Feels like a Cyclone, but flies like a seasoned XS, at least when compared to the new Ledgestone run which were pretty overstable.
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf I still have 3 original XS's left from the old days in great shape, and they fly almost exactly like my limited edition MOGO 2020 Glo-Z Stalker, with a touch more glide without as much forward fade. They dont crash, but they wind up in the same place as my stalker with the added glide they have without the fade. Totally interchangeable, with the hand feel being the deciding factor.

Genius to include the usage portion of the video. It's helpful for visualizing how a disc would fit in a bag and/or whether to bring it out for a given course or conditions.
Pipeline vs Latitude 64 River
I had a similar experience with my comparison between the Discraft Zone and the Innova Pig. I felt a) the flight numbers for both weren't accurate, and b) they didn't really compete with each other, as much as complement each other. I felt like the Zone was an approach disc, but the Pig was a small diameter midrange - just in the way they felt. And then the throws were different if thrown exactly the same way, but you could get them to behave similarly if you tried. Lastly, the groundplay was different. Anyhow, it was good to see your comparison based on how the discs flew, and you were willing to challenge the flight numbers based on real world performance. 🙂
I think the moral of the story is you need to try the disc and learn how they work for you specifically. unfortunately there aren't many places you can just go test discs which I think is something DG is really lacking compared to ball golf. It would be so nice to be able to test out different molds before buying. Or rent out a bag full of a brand from a pro shop and play a round

Re: each disc's flight numbers -- maybe with the -1/1 Discraft was trying to signal that the Passion is like a slightly faster FD, which is known to not turn early or mid flight, and can often have some real fade. Not sure why the Pipeline has its numbers though; it was approved in 2016, so it's not like there were any issues with differing conceptions of levels of fade.
The Pipeline’s numbers do feel off. Now flight numbers in general are pointless since they differ from brand to brand and there are just so many variables (altitude, arm speed, angle of release due to form/torque), but even when compared to other DGA molds, the Pipeline just doesn’t fit. Looking at the flight chart, I feel the Pipeline and Undertow should be flipped. Pipeline straight to understable with Undertow straight to overstable.
Drive your off hand to the inseam of your pants/shorts and you’ll pick up some distance. When you reach back your off shoulder should start the uncorking of everything else! Love the vids!

Last year I worked on my brace and not to just let my back leg swing around. By the end of the year it was finally feeling natural. So now I can finally focus on that dang offhand arm that is just dragging.
Curious how old that Pipeline is? I have a newer SP Line and it has no desire to turn at all, even on anhyzer it wants to fight out of it immediately.
The one used in the video was brand new. Passion had about a month on it when I started filming.
Only SP I’ve thrown was one of the coveted “2nd” run which was supposed to be nice and slightly overstable, but even for my noodle it would still get some turn. I’ll have to try out the newer SP line though!!!!

I didn't have the same experience with the passion. Haven't tried the first run, but the run before them was very flippy. It also didn't feel like it had much glide at all
I have noticed some not having as much glide as others. If I threw the Test Flight low, it would just get to the ground, but if I gave it air it would stay up for a long time. I’m hoping to finally get to throw the First Runs that came out earlier in the winter, might fly different then the Test Flight.
I’m hoping to find an understable Passion! Might then look at kicking the Pipeline from the bag.

This actually started as a Mantis//Pipeline video, but just wasn’t clicking with the Mantis early in the year. Might revisit it though. From the experience I was having, regular Z was about where the Pro Flex was of the Pipeline. Mantis in Titanium was even more understable, while my Big Z was flying close to the Matt Bell ProLine. The newer Z Swirl from Ledgestone this year definitely matches up well with the Matt Bell Pipelines as well.
Channel Idea/favor for all us right handed peeps: flip the film like a mirror and call it Cheating Righty Discgolf. I absolutely love your videos, you have THE best reviews and flight shots on TH-cam, but being right handed its so difficult for me to visualize how it will fly if I throw it.
I have toyed with the idea, but to keep everything on the same channel, I settled with adding mirrored throws during the throws at the field. Trying to add 2-4 in each video (depending on forehands) like how it was done in the Buzzz SS review and this video.

I was looking at passion because I need that type of shot in my bag … but after this I think that spot might be for the pipeline … I like the flight better for what I need in the woods where I mainly play
It is magic in the woods!!! Definitely a better woods disc, unless you have good form/arm speed and can overcome the Passions natural resistance to turn.
