Northern Wisconsin is so rad! Also Awesome you used a song that we recorded in the winter to open up this video. Thats going to be a lot of fun to ride in!
My brother had one when I was a kid, but it was all stock. This one having all modern suspension and a bigger badder motor makes it even cooler. He’s gonna fix all the fiberglass and repaint it to original this summer with my help
That's a sweet sled. Nothing like going wide open on a frozen lake in northern Wisco. I miss grooming the trails around Merrill/Tomahawk/Rhinelander, WI. Then I'd get to ride them and see where we needed to improve the trails.
It’s a bad machine. He had the moto ski version with the twin carb twin pipe 377 and that thing was an animal. This one’s 102 hp modern 583, low slung with “modern” suspension front and rear. He’s now got one for each of us to ride. Looking forward to more snow, as much as I hate winter, I’ve been riding sleds since I was 6, I love em
Yeah, and that’s nothing compared to the modern sleds which will do 140 plus. He had one of these in stock form when I was a kid and it was an 80mph sled. This thing is nuts. Found the forum from the original builder and he was clocked in a radar run at 105 on the ice. I can’t wait til we get more snow
I Used To Own A 1980 Blizzard 9500 Plus, Liquid Cooled 440, Dual 38mm. Mikuni Carburetor's, Dual Exaust and Dual Expantion Chamber's, That Thing Would Do About 80+ MPH, Pretty Good For A 1980 Sled !
My brother used to have the moto ski ultra sonic, same setup. That thing was a screaming Mimi.. he always wanted another, now he’s got the blizzard version
They’re a blast. I grew up with my brother always having a sled from the time I was 6 years old. This one is unique being a mix of a “modern” sled and a vintage sled. Unfortunately most of our snow is gone so we gotta wait to go riding, but now he’s got 3 so we all 3 have something to ride
They used the front bulkhead off of the mxz, welded it to the tunnel of the blizzard and installed the blizzard hood and belly pan. It’s cut out poorly around the shocks, which is one of the things we’re going to correct this spring/summer when we restore it. He’s actually gonna paint it like his 80 moto ski super Sonic he had years ago.. it’s an awesome sled with tons of potential, it’s just a bit rough around the edges..
If you look on the skidoo forum the thread on the build is on there from back in 06 or so. The guy my brother bought it from bought it from the guy who built it.
@@CKPowersports it’s the only one we can find on the internet, so I’d say yes it’s likely the same sled. I’m Enjoying your channel. Keep up the great videos

I love northern Wisconsin so much.
It was really beautiful up there. Where we were south of Green Bay, there was 4 big lakes, and groomed snowmobile/4 wheeler trails
Nice looking Ski Doo, hope you guys had a wonderful time.
We had a blast. Can’t wait til we all go riding.
Daaaayum!! That sled rips 💪💪
Yeah it’s fast as f
100 MPH on snow ? Thats nuts! Have fun !

@@IowaBudgetRCBashers ah yes I love the old moto ski's had one of those too👍
Sweet looking sled!👍😊
It’s gonna be a fun one.
Cool! Never knew those things went that fast that's crazy!
And that’s nothing compared to modern sleds. The new turbocharged 4 strokes will do 140-170.. nuts right..
That's deadly fast!@@IowaBudgetRCBashers
Those things look fun, never had a chance to ride one. Not a common thing way down here!

Nice that's awesome keep the great work up
Thanks max
That thing is awesome
He had one when I was a kid and I rode the hell out of it. Looking forward to helping him restore this one
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers awesome
I need one like this. I'm very curious how they mounted the front suspension links and shocks

I've seen a build like that before with the trailing arm suspension. I wonder if saw that one once before.
