  • On August 19, 2021, we went out with friends to shrimp and fish. We had a blast! Caught lots of BIG shrimp and a few halibut. Ate great! Here is our journey in our Nordhavn 55 with Distin our Havanese. Learning more everyday!

    I’m a landlocked Nordhavn fan boy with the lottery as my plan towards ownership. Meanwhile your videos help to keep my dreams alive. I enjoy your content, it’s informative, interesting and well produced. I for one appreciate your channel 😀

    Just a question why there is so much censorship going on? some super secret places to fish?

    • @havaseas
      @havaseas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. It took the guys two weekends to get the spot correct. Those sneaky Alaskan fishermen can figure out where you are based on the mountains they see.

    Whats with the blurring, very annoying, you arent hiding anything. People already know the locations...

    • @havaseas
      @havaseas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the blurring is annoying. Try having to figure out how to do it. Alaskan fishermen know their area using the mountains. They sit there an analyze where the good spots are from photos. They have an idea of where we fished, but not the exact spot. It will only happen in some fishing videos and sometimes with faces. Sorry about it being annoying.

    Why does your videos go pixelated along the skyline etc from time to time??

    • @havaseas
      @havaseas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alaskans try to figure out other’s fishing spots. They look at the background and the mountains to figure it out. We even started turning off our AIS when hitting our favorite spots. I had to hide the shore and the mountains when we fished in great spots.

    Wow those are nice prawns! Nice size! Where we live in NorthernBC we have to throw any females that have eggs back in the water. WE can't keep them :(. I guess its so the life cycle can keep going for the prawns.. YUM YUM

    You may have already, but if not look up Fleming Yachts and have a watch of Tony Flemming's travel's on their 55' Fleming Venture and Venture 11 as he is a brilliant narrator and his videos are very informative for where you are traveling.

    Nice, but how does leaving skin on a fish keep you legal ? Perhaps I missed something.

    • @havaseas
      @havaseas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don't bring the whole halibut back to the boat, you are allowed to keep it in four pieces with a piece of skin on each piece. That allows the regulatory people to figure out how many fish you actually caught. I hope that helps.

    • @russellclarke6855
      @russellclarke6855 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@havaseas Interesting, thank you, it sounds like you must have plenty of fishing inspectors watching what's going on. I guess they're saying you can't cook and eat it onboard so they can check how many you caught when you get back to shore, and put you in prison if necessary. :-)
