I feel like its better to err on the side of caution when it comes to controlling the wheelies. Add a bunch of weight, and remove as they go to dial in the launch.
@@TomoHawKzZ Currently they are adding weight to the front. If they can remove weight in the rear, that would mean less weight to add to the front in order to get that 50/50 weight distribution.
The carbon T tops with fibreglass engine cover will help big time. Rest of the weight on the nose will go a long way to stop her lifting hopefully. Looking like you’ll need a new cage now Kyle, she’s going to be rowdy
The MR2 got pretty light. The only thing that will make it gain a little more weight would be the bars the track is going to make you add to the cage when you start running in the 7s
It might be overkill, but could you replace the rear glass and rear quarter glass with acrylic to take some more weight off the back? Might be worth considering.

Mount the cooler to the Trans, so when the motor flexes your tubing won't have any stress on it. If you mount it to the chassis the motor could flex and probably Crack a weld or worse.
Solid point. if it's mounted do the drive train, it will all be moving together. Or needs really loose rubber mount to allow the movement that will be happening
Deeply wish this was a Toyota engine in a Toyota car but FULL RESPECT for the work you are doing here. This is spectacular. FWIW my MR2 is just over 2800lbs and that is with all the interior and trim bits, "mostly stock" other than some suspension and a gen4 swap.
Do they make some sort of a rear skid plate for these cars? Could try covering the big hole in the back underneath. Catching all that air in the trunk like a parachute. Car is coming along nice, can’t wait to see the new time slips 🤙🏻🦅🇺🇸
great idea, he could make small aluminum plates to fit up in different spots, and easy to remove, underneath the chassis and direct air, not just jam it up underneath, causing a swirl, and also causing the car to fight against it. people don't think about under the car very much. but with those plates. he could make it very much more aerodynamic under there. * also would be a huge safety measure for track racing to catch any fluids that spilled, blew out, etc..... peace, Eturn

You need to up the cage so it will pass tech to run low 7s . I don't know about FL tracks but the ones around me are getting pretty strict about tech again now that more people are dragging our shit boxes back to the track.
Carbon trunk carbon hood carbon tops and I'd you twinkle with the intercooler pretty sure you can make a intake to the turbo using the side air duck but it's looking awesome keep it up guys

Your welds look real nice, but you might wanna consider backfilling the unit with argon so there's no oxygen inside the weld site. I've been welding for a long time before I retired recently. Don't take my word for it though.....ask Kevin from KSR who built Mullet how important that is. Really like what you're doing with the MR2. You're headed for being the fastest in the world with that. V-bands on a turbo used to be unthinkable now they are pretty standard on new stuff, in 10 years turbos might have vibrant quick release fittings just for people to lop them off for something new!

You could also raise the rear of the car to get more weight to the front end instead of adding weight. Or lower the front to get more weight to the front. U could definitely get that bias closer before adding weight. Keep it up boyz!!!

Haha, yeah get those targa panels off asap, you could probably gain even more weight reduction by doing all the panels in carbon, frunk, decklid, engine cover, headlights and so on the just stuff the nose full of it to keep it down. Could probably get benefits form lighter suspension parts. I'm excited to see it run again and hopefully no space-x on the 60 foot...
The more u get the weight pass the front tires the better your weight traffer will be. A steel aero wing for the front bummer. Make a few sizes 50 lb 75 lb 100 lb be most for your weight.

Don’t add weight initially, the weight you removed plus having the CoG lower will transfer a good bit less weight to the rear under acceleration.

Instead off the fiber glass hood thers a full cover u can get 4 the rear which cuts down loads on drag and weight
He already has a carbon egine cover being made by a follower

Whenever they do have to beef up the cage they’ll also need to drop the t top for a fiberglass/ carbon one so additional weight savings there

Yeah they might aswell just go full lexan, it's definitely not cheap though, i checked it's around $1k.

For anyone curious u want to use polycarbonate and lexan is a name brand of poly. Acrylic/plexiglass is not used in cars it can crack vs poly/lexan 👍

Haha, yeah get those targa panels off asap, you could probably gain even more weight reduction by doing all the panels in carbon, frunk, decklid, engine cover, headlights and so on the just stuff the nose full of it to keep it down. Could probably get benefits form lighter suspension parts.
I'm excited to see it run again and hopefully no space-x on the 60 foot...
The more u get the weight pass the front tires the better your weight traffer will be. A steel aero wing for the front bummer. Make a few sizes 50 lb 75 lb 100 lb be most for your weight.
