Holographic universe is one of those albums that just never gets old. Phase I is solid, technocalyptic cybergeddon & neohuman are the standout tracks. That signature Per tone is what keeps me coming back. Hits different 🎸
this was for me also the first time i listened...awesome song...sounds very old school...the trusted riffs form forlorn...and vocals ( its as if Christian Alvestam was singing)
I played holographic universe so much back then and then kind of went on other metal ventures.. Didn't really know they made music still. I didn't think it was that great tbh. And when I go back and play this album it just ain't my flavour of metal anymore. It was epic back then but now I feel satiated with them. But maybe their other releases will invoke something in me, and maybe this song will grow on me on further listens. I'll keep an open mind for coming songs.
Man, I have been waiting so long and to be fair I was hoping for more. The chorus is good and all, but my expectations probably have been too high for I have waited so long.
I encourage you to approach Phase 1 With curiosity. I also didn't like their new sound at first but it's grown on me HEAVILY because of that album. I do think neohuman and technocalyptic cybergeddon stand pretty far above the other tracks though.
I love Scar Symmetry, but I don’t think this song/band is progressive. Simplistically speaking, In progressive metal songs, the songs start off as one thing, and make a few or several progressions into whole different songs (see: Opeth or enslaved). I think Melodic death metal fits the genre.
You guys need to do a Phase 1 album review. I personally liked it, as with all albums since Christian left. I do love this vocal duo though, even hough Christian is a personal fav of mind who can do cleans and growls very well. I'm still not sold on the chorus on this song, Just sounds a lil too cheesy vor my tastes. Vocals sounds good everywhere else though.

Christian can’t maintain his live performances. Per said that years ago. Studio sounds great, live would sound good once a month at most because he couldn’t maintain it. Personally the duel vocalists work better than with Christian. He just couldn’t do it live
And yet Christian hasn’t done anything without them that holds a candle to anything they’ve done without him. Don’t get me wrong I love Christian’s vocals but his projects don’t compare to any Scar Symmetry albums.

I loved phase 1. Thought it was their best work by miles since Christian had left and I cant wait for phase 2
I really like Unseen Empire too, but i'd agree that phase 1 was their best of the last three albums. Can't wait for phase 2 to top it!

Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal is the most precise, I believe. They do have some progressive elements here and there.
