Why would anyone buy this? I mean, you have to use now a third/fourth device (Camera + Trigger + App (+ flashhead)) to controll your flash, where's the point of that? In a stressful situation I don't want to take out my phone to open the app, connect the flash, set the new setting, shoot the photo, open the app again because the setting was not okay and so on... I don't get the point of this new device...
Kerwyn Wilson no you would not be correct. The splintered Android system makes app development more difficult but they’re working on it with no date set yet.
I have a Godox A1 Camera Flash, which also has an IOS app, which has 32 channels and can also control my TT685f full TTL, manual and HSS. It also can control 16 groups, the modeling lights and multi strobe. I can also control both using my X1 trigger.

Unfortunately, Profoto hasn't shared any plans with us about producing an Android compatible app.
BTW - it's not "just iOS". It's iPhone 7 and later. Doesn't work with iPod touch nor iPad.

Can you just stick in on your Camera and control it manually, the old way, with your fingers on the flash not just thru the app ?
Yes, you can still adjust the settings manually on the flash itself without problem.
Adjustment can be made directly on the flash head without having to use the app.
