Welger Ap530 knotters

The knotters on my Ap530 would not tie even though I had gone through all the clearances by the manual. Clearing the twine path with emery paper removed rust, especially from the twine tensioner and I think that was the problem. The manual says to measure the springs to get the correct tension, but that won't work if there is a a lot of rust.

I'm looking, ... so what now ? what was it you were trying to show us? - you've only succeeded in Threading the knotter. AND your Needles and Knot ter frames are not held ridgid. Just no use at all -never get results with stuff like that!. But now at least I've seen how the Welger knotter operates - have used the various Massey, IH, Fahr & Deere kno tters. Principle is all the same - has to be. Cheers.
