This is really an extraordinary band with great creativity and skill. As a music professor who has taught songwriting and published widely on popular music, I have to say this is a brilliant model of the kind of classic sound that can appeal across generations and have lasting impact. Very inspiring. Keep it up! -David Hebert
I've seen Bailen live twice. They are mind boggling. One moment they sound like a Christian rock band performing in their church basement. Other times you feel like you're seeing Led Zeppelin live in the 70s. They combine genres in ways that no one else is doing.
Seen the same act 3 weeks ago and I was floored on how in tune all 3 are with each other. After the first 15 seconds when they started playing I knew they were true musicians.
Whaaah?! Thanks to YT algorithms I stumbled on this band through a Joni Coyote cover. I absolutely LOVE their harmonic sensibilities and how they use stops to drive home the emotional effect. Thanks for giving my Sunday a detour ... Going to scour the internet and gobble up everything they have put out. ... Edited after seeing comparison comments and I would agree, and I am adding Nickel Creek to the comparison pile.
Just discovered this band last Saturday on CBS Sat Morning... cAught the end of “I was wrong” and have been hooked since ... damn these guys and gal are tight and sound so so good. Love their music! Also, if any of the Bailen siblings see this... please, what in the hell is that 2nd chord in Rose Leaves chorus?? My Italian Dirusso Sausage fingers can’t reach that long LOL I cant figure it out for the life of me. Cheers to great success!!! 🍻
The chord is like an E chord with an F# added on the D string. So play an E chord, but use your pinky to extend two frets up to F# on the D string and strum all 6 strings from the bottom up.
Late to the party, but better than never ... first heard "I Was Wrong" December 2021 on WJBJ Brookdale Public Radio near the Jersey Shore! It's tough to sing with abandon ("Something Tells Me") and not sound ragged. They pull it off with aplomb.
so surprised 'I Was Wrong' was the one she chose to play on an acoustic! sounds amazing, as always. inspiring band. also whoever mixed this session deserves a medal! that snare sounds so meaty & the vocals shine as they should. pristine performance and production.
Love these guys and so many other great artists I've discovered on Paste! Just a little bit less questioning in favour of a little bit more music maybe though please?? {think NPR tiny desk style} For everything else: keep it up, Paste!
I can't help but wonder if David (drummer) is digging at Adam Wakefield a little bit when he says "There it is, ladies and gentlemen! There's that one! In the bag!". Lol
Saw them recently in Austin and was absolutely demolished by how GOOD they are live!
Excellent band

Sounds just like the record. Incredible.
Unbelievable Sound and Harmonies....Just Wow.!!!
I saw this incredible band open for Hozier yesterday. Their harmonies do remind me of Fleetwood Mac/CSN. SO great!!!!!!!!!
I even told these guys this very statement after the Hozier show on 6/2!!! What great talent they are!!! Cheers!!!

Wow. Talented and so moving. Thank you.
I love the confidence and command of your instruments. Tremendous performance. They have the "it" factor.

Something tells me I could fall in love with that Tele tone!
pandemic cure!! right there in their energy and performance... Love her awesome voice and presence
So much respect and reverence for the music. Hard to date them, or pigeon hole them: love it. So original. So fresh.
Very nice. Looking forward to hearing how they progress and evolve over the next few years. The last song had kind of a Simon & Garfunkel vibe.
I love it, this band is amazing!!! The vocal harmony s so beautiful!!! reminds me of Fleetwood Mac...
Soooo lush and rich!
So good!

Tremendous talent and harmonies. They remind me of a young Simon & Garfunkel or CSNY.
Baterista que canta vale por dos, bella música y un trío muy bien ensamblado, ella encantadora. Congratulations desde la Ciudad de México!
Sun Radio 99.9 San Marcos, TX brought me here.
Awesome sound.

Shit is good!!!
I can't help but wonder if David (drummer) is digging at Adam Wakefield a little bit when he says "There it is, ladies and gentlemen! There's that one! In the bag!". Lol
For reference, watch Adam Wakefield's performance on Paste from shortly before this video was recorded.
Individual musicians names should be in the descriptions for all these Pastey videos. It feels disrespectful for them not to do that simple thing.
