- Another great battle between two Filipino legends, as Efren Reyes faces Francisco Bustamante at the 1995 US Open 9-Ball Championship at the Holiday Inn in Chesapeake, Virginia.
“The Magician” Efren Reyes is widely accepted as the best all around player to ever play the sport. He is an icon in his home country of The Philippines and has won just about every notable title that was available in the sport.
The second most well known Filipino player was probably “Django” Francisco Bustamante. This was still early in Bustamante’s Hall of Fame career, but he would go on to be named Player of the Year in 1998 after five Camel Pro Tour titles.
Bill Incardona is joined by special guest Bill “Weenie Beenie” Staton on commentary.

The magician - - - I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball (race to three). Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!
what a joy to watch! ..i really miss this pure instinct game.. it's like watching brazil 2002 if you know what i mean hehe
That was not a legal shot, they screwed Efren on that.
ohhh yaaa nice set dig the puffy pants and shirt bustamante had on
A young Bustamante had style.
OMG Efren in his Prime was really something else. Even in today's competition, i can say that Efren's creativity and whiteball control would still be above even to the talents of Joshua Filler and Fedor Gorst.
Efren could play circles around Gorst - all day any day!!
@@ScarlettOHarley210maybe Gorst but not Earl or SVB, as they have 5 US Opens each and other accolades Efren could only dream about
Did you see the championship game played in Japan - Efren v Earl Strickland where Efren came from behind 17 games to pass & beat Strickland? Currently Efren is called the Best Who Played the Game in addition to the The Magician. He makes shots other people haven't even conceptualized. He's the GOAT & he's a "Good Sport" too. He's got it all & he's still a great role model for young players!
@@godjhaka7376Earl or svb even not come close to Busty 😄

Any new videos coming for the paid subscription?? Love matches from this era and thank you for it.
Yes, hoping to get another batch posted early next week. Sorry about the delay.
Efren reyes is greatest player by far and for too long ..his best was back in 70s while he was still in Philippines...his knowledge of sphericals is beyond anyone's imagination...still at the age of 70s he is still one of the best one pocket player.....his shooting abilities may have declined but his skill and knowledge never leaves him...there may be many players who can win more titles than him...but they can never ever be on efren reyes level...efren reyes forever be the GOAT of pool...
They got the Pearl rackin the ballz
So many ads😔 it kills the fun of wactching this game
I noticed Efren often use loop bridge in his younger age. Today he uses open bridge a lot more maybe because of poor sight
You can tell by the tired look on Efrems face he was up all night playing cards/chess
LEGENDS!
54:13 I think tha that was a foul.
When did Bill and Beenie call this match? I didn't have internet in '95 lol.. there must have been some fuzz on that 2 ball, but not quite frozen to the rail ... nevermind.
VHS
When bustamante gets in stroke he makes it look way way too easy😂😂😂😂
And somehow from this point it ends up Pierce, Reyes, 1,2. Weird.
not that weird if you ever saw Reed Pierce play back then.
Efren 41 at this time and i'm 15. Lol
Raimu ye bustamante koyok luwak
