One of my favorite hidden gems from these guys is "we're good" featuring Adriana Arellano and Cesar (his first feature before he joined them) also their covers BTS's "Butter" and AJR's "Bang" are great!
They've put out some spectacular covers since, but this one still gives me the most sheer gleeful geeky joy with the walls of sound and the eerie lighting and the belts and the costumes and just, gah. (I think the clinking noise was the chain Cesar was shaking.) ETA: One of the most amazing things about it is that Jose wasn't supposed to be the guest artist and Eli wasn't supposed to have such a prominent role--they had to rearrange everything when Anthony Gargiula couldn't make it due to Covid restrictions. I think it was a happy accident of fate; Anthony is awesome and I have no doubt it would have been a great performance, but Jose makes an absolutely perfect pirate captain, and it just wouldn't be the same without the flourishes he added (like raising the sword at the song's climax) and Eli's rock god rasp soaring over everything.
Ceasar is holding a set of shackles that he keeps shaking/rattling/clinking, I think those are the chains you are referring to. I have to remind myself almost every time that its the song because it sounds almost exactly like my dogs tags and I look around to see what they're into. Their are so many songs of Voiceplay watch not to mention Geoff's channel. I think you'd like Queen in 5 or Boy Bands in 5 Enjoying your reactions
I think you would also enjoy their version of Warriors by Imagine Dragons a lot!! Also Dream On, Enemy and well, there are just so many fantastic ones it’s hard to pick! ❤
There were some great reaction to this one, like your, enjoying it so much. One reactor got so into it he jumped up, forgetting he didn't have any pants on, was just in his boxers. Another reactor, when it ended, just dropped his headphones, got up, and walked away. It left him speechless. This was my favorite until "Valhalla Calling" came out.
My Mother Told Me might be played as part of Assassin’s Creed, but it’s a legit ancient Viking song, from Egill’s Saga. Ugly backstory. You hear it sung in Old Norse in the TV Show Vikings a number of times. Totally agree about Eli’s vocals here-he’s spot on. Also his acting-he’s actually quite an extraordinary actor. Great reaction!!! I look forward to more!! Also, I’d love to see you react to The Bass Gang, another a capella group that’s coming up on the scene!!
I would consider Valhalla Calling as the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla song, since it was written especially for the video game. My Mother Told Me was used in both Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and the Vikings TV show, but it is a much, MUCH older song than that - actually based on Norse sagas, and several hundred to a thousand or so years old. But you should definitely react to it, even though you've already seen Valhalla Calling - you can see where the VoicePlay Viking saga all began!
Something that's harder to spot is that they have fake brands on their hands saying VP for VoicePlay, as pirates were sometimes branded with a P for pirate. These guys spare no effort for accuracy. I get chills every time I listen to this. :) This was possibly the most intense they'd got at that time, and now Valhalla Calling goes arguably one better in that regard. The jingling sound is Cesar rattling his shackles. (old fashioned handcuffs). If you watch it again look out for that. :)
I’m betting Layne could do that chain sound. He does sleigh bells in one of the Christmas songs. It is however actually a shackle here. You can see it in Cesar’s right hand. IF they ever use something as an instrument, you will see it shown.
If you liked Eli in this, you’ll love him in their next video. The patrons have it now, so it should premier soon. And the way he handles that baseball bat…
@@laundrygoddess4 He has done that before… Ya know, if any of them had a punk history of any sort, it’d have to be Eli. I can’t see Geoff or Layne getting up to serious shenanigans, even as teens, but for some reason, I’d believe a story about Eli.
If you watch closely, Cesar has a manacle or somesuch in his hand, that he is rattling at certain points in the video; that is probably the chain-clanking that you heard. Nonetheless, this for me is one of their top songs. (Rich Man is another, and Valhalla Calling is growing on me, not that I ever thought it was bad.) My favorite *video* of theirs is Mountain King, which just has so much going on visually, and it's so well integrated with the music, that I find it endlessly amusing and very impressive; and it's musically very good as well.

This is one of my top 5 for vp songs. It's so.... So frickin good man. Perfection. Glad you finally got to react to it!
this broke a lot of reactors when it came out and Eli as well as being a full on pirate did the lighting ❤🏴
"My mother told me" was featured in both Assassin Cread and the (tv) show "Vikings"
Nice reaction! Cannot wait for you to see “My Mother Told Me!”
Yours was one of the more enthusiastic reactions.Terrific!!
Voice play Valhalla calling will blow your mind
This is one of their best! It’s so much fun to watch them anew as you discover VP. ❤

As someone else said you are going to LOVE the new one when it comes out.
The coin noise is a bell like thing that Cesar has and shakes. You can see him doing it.
Such a good video... effects, lighting, just superb!

LOVE your reaction Especially since it is offered with your understanding of how/what they do ending in superb talent

He also did the sound of air bubbles in their Little Mermaid medley. :D

Yah. That casual flip did it for me too. 😋
@@Gael4ce 😁
@@Gael4ce totally the flip got me

@@Gael4ce I'd believe it too. He is such a badass on screen. Tiny and terrifying in several videos where that's called for.

Oogie Boogie song is a really good one to watch.
Eli rhymes with jelly ❤
This one was my favorite until they did "Nothing Else Matters" and "Valhalla Calling." They're really coming out strong lately! It's crazy!
As they say, for something completely different - try young Voiceplay doing the Chicken Song or Road Trip.
I think you would love My Mother Told me by Voiceplay.
Most of them the video is done by Pattycakes Production which Layne the beatboxer and older VoicePlay member Tony own.
This song was from Pirates of the Caribbean ❤
Reaction yumenimukatte sakura gakuin......please
Please go back to Voctave. Maybe the Prince of Egypt medley?
If you want a good time check out Oogie Boogie by VoicePlay.
First "My mother told me" then "Valhalla calling" ... the newest one is also kind of a war song (at least for European soccer fans... 🫢)
