I switched from a Happy Planner (used it for 7 years) to a Passion Planner large weekly. It was a great change and serves me well at this time in my life. Sometimes a change is just what's needed. All the best to you and your family.
Love that you switched to the Hobo Weeks! It’s my EDC because of how light and portable it is. The stalogy got to be a chore with how big it became and I needed something smaller.
Sometimes we just want a change. My A5 ring bound planner was working for me, but I switched to a personal size ring bound planner. I didn't need to, but I wanted a change. It was very refreshing to switch everything to a new planner size.
I loved your video! Your system sounds almost just like mine! My weeks is a mess this year because I tipped in so many pages from another weeks I took apart to give myself 1 page per day + notes. For 2023 I'm planning on using 1 mega weeks and the tiny little hobonichi weeks notebooks. I'm planning on using 1 per month for dailies.
So funny....I'm doing the same thing. I had set up a very functional a5 rings. It's perfect, but it feels so bulky...not comfortable to hold. I have a weeks for my purse, but I noticed I was filling in dates more on that and forgetting to do it in my main planner. But I will want a stalogy as a notebook companion. Still not sure though. Lol
Haha! I just shared a couple of days ago in my IG stories that I was thinking about transitioning my Stalogy into my Hobo Wks 100% or a B6 Slim! 🤗 I’m no longer homeschooling so I don’t need a larger planner. I’m writing out my sections and thinking through the process which I totally enjoy. TFS!!! ❤️
Hey sis, awesome video! Thanks for this. I did switch in July from an A5 Nanami Notebook to a standard TN. I used the standard TN at the start of the year and switched because I was using an A5 sized monthly spread and I did not want to use two separate notebooks. I am adjusting to a standard size monthly and it is working. So I am loving using my TN again. Thanks again for sharing! Be blessed, C.
I am LOVING this idea of adding an additional book in the Weeks cover!!! I’m going to try this out as well. I love the size of the Weeks but could not figure out how to use it as a planner for the daily. Thank you for the inspiration.
Just tried rings and only lasted three weeks. Hobonichi weeks for every day, a5 for prayer and journaling planner makes for a happy girl (I'm 58😂)! Love your flip thru, thank you!
Great video and very timely. I use The Angel Shoppe Planner which is undated and it works well since I like a Sunday start for my weekly. I also have a cut down Stalogy weeks size for dailies, errands, and grocery lists. The remaining pages in the planner are several lists as you mentioned in video. Can't wait to see how your new planner progresses over time.
Have you ever tried a Hobo cousin? It has the calendar, size, and daily pages! It’s been working for me all of this year and I am going to use it for 2023 as well!
Fun change! If you want few notebooks and more pages, paper peguin co makes hobonichi size notebooks. Another shop (sorry don't remember the name) also makes a notebook about the the same size and length as the weeks, but it is just all grid paper.
@@AnnieSmithawifenmother Took a few days, but it's the Freely Noted book by Plannermonkeyco that makes the a similar size notebook that's all grid on Tomoe River paper. Excited to see how this all works for you, but that might be a good option for your daily pages.
I am looking forward to seeing you make the Weeks work! I’m not a fan of the weeks BUT I really like watching your process to see how your system would work in another medium. I can apply your thought process to what I do. I’m currently using the Hobonichi Cousin Avec in a TN with a journal AND I’m trying out the A6 original avec size to see if I can go down from the A5. I do know for sure that I’m a daily & monthly planner. I really don’t need a weekly spread.
I love the smaller planner and I am really tempted to try a B6 slim size. I use Designs by Planner Perfect wide size at the moment. Have you ever heard of The Leather Quill Shoppe? They make high quality leathers that are customizable at an affordable price!
I am in an A5 currently. I tried Planner Perfect, actually on your recommendation. I tried it for 6 months. I cannot justify the price, the cost, in my budget. I still have my Traveller's notebook and some notebooks from Jet Pens with Tomoe paper in them. I also tried Hobonici. Too small and full of boxes for me. Even the undated. I may go back to the TN, but very pleased in the A5 size. Thank you for your videos. I appreciate your input immensely. I appreciate you as well. Are you still using oils? I have not seen a video on them in some time.
I’m glad you’ve found your system! It can take a few tries, but it’s satisfying when you do. I am still using oils- I’ve been sharing on Instagram reels lately ☺️
If you 1. really want to use Planner Perfect inserts and 2. the difference in size between the Weeks and the personal size PP insert is not your fave, and 3. you don’t mind cutting down an insert, then 4. you could purchase the B6 Slim PP insert to cut down. It would be closer to the height of the Weeks.
I have purchased a HW mega to see if it will work for me, after using a Cousin for the first half of 2022. I get the extra page need and bought the notebooks from Amazon but looking at Paper Penguin CO’s Tomoe River paper 160 page notebooks to fill that gap. I seem to flip flop back and forth between my Hobonichi’s trying to figure out a good system. Your video really caught my attention 😀 and gave me some really good ideas. I have looked at a Moterm cover but worry about if it makes it feel big to carry. I like the feel of the Weeks just by itself with the small notebook tucked in the back. Do you like the Moterm? It doesn’t feel bulky in you bag? Could you link exactly which cover? I don’t want to get the wrong one. Thanks! I really enjoyed this video!
I have used a weeks for about 5 years. The old Moterm covers without the back pocket were so compact. I don’t like the new ones but I know I’m in the minority. I either use the old style Moterm covers or a VDS standard cover with no back pocket.
I'm not surprised about your changing sizes after you've been in a TN for so long, but I have a concern: have you switched from your summer schedule to your fall schedule? Every year, your fall schedule is so much busier and I'm concerned that this new size may not be big enough for your busy season. My advice is don't make any big investments in covers or subscriptions until you're in your busy season a month or two. 💖🌞🌵😷
I know someone who uses a Hobonichi Weeks Mega and a Traveler's Company Notebook and it seems to work for her. She's using the standard size. Maybe that could work for you.

Yes, sometimes a change is really good 😊
If you cut them down, get a corner rounder for your pages and you will like it better.
I do have one ❤️

It’s been so much fun 🤩

Annie thank you.. this video I loved because you explained where all belongs and showed me the functionality thank you
I’m so glad it helped you ☺️

That’s sounds like what I’m working towards 🎉🎉🎉

I’m loving it! I hope it works for you!
Great update. I believe the B6 stalogy is the same height as the Weeks and all you would need to do is cut down the width.
Such a cute planner!! I love that it can easily fit in your purse or day bag!

Planner Monkey Co has a Hobo Weeks size Tomoe River notebook that would go great with your system! I love the Weeks!
I condensed down to a field size 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 and I love it !
Have a chic sparrow pocket size plus leather. 🙂
Have you ever tried a Hobo cousin? It has the calendar, size, and daily pages! It’s been working for me all of this year and I am going to use it for 2023 as well!
I’ve wanted to, but it doesn’t have notes pages so I’ve never tried to make it work because I’d need another notebook or something 😆
I'm always going back into my Hobo weeks. Now that you've shown me a small journal with it.... I just have to be sure of which size. LOL
LOL
I was thinking about doing a hobonichi weeks style system as an EDC and your video came up. 😁

I LOVE this and think it makes so much sense as a cohesive planner system. I also love the seasonal planner perfect goodies.
I cut my planner perfect notebooks down too! I use a blade and take slow cuts a few layers at a time and a good ruler. Lol
Maybe I should have tried a more delicate hand. I’m pretty sure I man-handled mine into chaos 😆😆😆

I’m the same way, I watch a lot of videos with sizes or systems that wouldn’t work for me but still give me ideas and inspo 😘

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to check out the shop
Wow I love it Annie!! 🤍
I changed as well I went from stalogy to a hobonichi cousin I will see how it goes
Have you thought about Jibun Techo weekly with idea book in the back?
I’ve heard of the Jibun but it’s never really appealed to me 🤷♀️ The hobonichi weeks for some reason just entices me 😍

FYI I think staples will clean cut thick things .
I thought they might. Thanks for confirming!
If you want an A5 notebook with tomoe River paper check out Nanami seven seas notebooks. It’s 52 gsm and I love them.
I love your croc leathers! Where?
They’re from Amazon, Moterm brand ❤️ There’s a link in the description.
What about cutting down a 1/2 year Stalogy?
That probably wouldn’t be enough daily pages for me 😆

Good to know, it’ll be worth considering if I need it.

I had no idea they used to be slimmer and without a pocket. Interesting ❤️
I have the cream croc cover for the weeks and the pink and black croc covers for the A5 and I love them! They feel very slim to me 🤷♀️

It’s a good thought, but the size allows plenty of room. If I continue to like the size, the space won’t be a problem.
I know someone who uses a Hobonichi Weeks Mega and a Traveler's Company Notebook and it seems to work for her. She's using the standard size. Maybe that could work for you.
I tried a hobonichi in my standard years ago and didn’t like the size difference 😫
