RVH at it again, brushing up his install skills on his brother's car before the Jeep 3.0 build. RVH proving the old dog's skills are sharp as a puppy's teeth and I cannot wait for the epic Jeep system install videos!
@@Outty5000Hertz I'll have to get him to clean it up and give it a shot. I've driven it a couple of times. It's nice for sure. I joke with him because to me the design is similar to the Porsche Panamara, by calling it the "Peasants Panamara".
I went to get my speakers hook up and they told me they had to disconnect my stinger subs to connect my speakers so i didnt get them to hook my speakers
No you do not. I left all the factory system intact. However I can see why they would want to recommend doing that. My brother is not trying to boom out the world, just wanted to add a bit more deeper bass the factory's can't do. If you are trying "really" bass out you will eventually blow the factory subs. But I doubt you'd know they were disconnected by adding that much bass. A good installer will be honest and they do not want customers coming back complaining. Here's the scenario, they do not disconnect them, you go out beating down the block enjoying your new subs. Then you start to hear something sond funny, it's a blown factory sub. You go back to the shop and tell them your hearing something no quite right. They look things over and tell you, "it's a blown factory sub". Customer then goes on a rant about how the shop blew up the factory equipment putting the aftermarket stuff in wrong. Said customer then sues the shop and wins. Shop then has to refund the customer and pay the dealer to repair/replace damaged factory equipment.
So im installing a system in this exact car. I wished you show the connection to the red blue wires. Question did the amp turn on with just the rca jacks plugged into the amp?
Yes, but it depends on the amp you are installing. The Kicker amps can handle up to 40V A/C or 400watts of power through the RCA's. Most amps can't do that and require a special line output converter. The Kicker KeyLOC is a good one so is the Recoil one I did a video on. The main advantage to the Kicker KeyLOC is it will re-equalize the OEM EQ to a better flatter bass. My brother didn't care that much on this install. I wish he would have. It sounds ok has lots of bass but it's just too boomy vs clean sounding for my taste.
Idk if im missing something but what did you do with the red plug that you unplugged from factory amp? Does it stay unplugged or does something else plug into it or what? Sorry
I have a 2019 Stinger with Nav and 360 view camera. Do you have any issue with your backup camera after the sub install. The dealer is trying to figure out the issue with my camera not working all the time and thinks my sub might be affecting it. I think it's a faulty radio unit.
It shouldn't. But with the way some of these new cars are who knows. But no issues with the backup camera. My 2015 Jeep Patriot is throwing an "air bag code" due to a faulty aftermarket radio interface. Somehow the car losing communication to the radio activated the air bag light 🤔.

I'd have to recheck my notes but that sounds right 👍, thanks for putting that in.
My front speakers stopped working after instal

@@thenotoriousrvh6091 what im asking is....did you have to use a remote? Or did the amp just stays on?
@@Krazy_one The amp has current sensing. When it sees voltage through the RCA it turns on.
@@thenotoriousrvh6091 even when the car is off? We ran into the problem with the amp staying on even when the car is off.
Sorry I didn't explain myself

It gets plugged back in, easier to work with unplugged.

did you have to disconnect and speakers in the stinger?
need to see how you did your wiring so i can do mines
Did you use a high to low converter?
Not necessary with the Kicker amp. They are designed to accept up to a 40 volt input through the RCA.
