i did my own small little experiment where i grabbed as much food as i could (around 200-300) and tamed any horse i saw (only horses) i went from having 10,680 to 26,866. only food was used and that's all.. it took me around 40-45 minutes but again it may take longer or slower depending on who you are.. but ofc if you wanna be stubborn like i usually am, start grinding food, start looking around for chests as they give cash and lassos, maybe buy 20 woven and string lassos and only catch horses. the normal ones, especially the pegasus as they sell for me.. but those are my own tips and do what you'd like with em

I also have another trick I’m my sleeve- do everything Arl did, but when u get to rare food, since a horse only has 4 feed-able slots and rares only fill 3, feed ONE rare and ONE common food item so u can get 2 times the amount of horses! Also never feed legendary food items bc it fills 4 plus hearts, I usually give them to the npcs :)
i feel like using food (mainly apples) is also a great way! how i make money is i gather up mainly green & red apples, then i use 1 green apple and 1 red apple per horse so i wont use up to many. it’s worked great for me so far!
Very good method but I collect apples so you can keep even more money. I also sell pink horses too and that sometimes works (purple, blue, red and white work pretty well too)
I do this with torn lassos but as soon as as I catch a male horse I breed it with one of my females and then get rid of the male and the age the foal up and sell it or just sell it as soon as I get it. I do the food thing that everyone else is talking about
String lasso is cheaper I use those a lot and with in thirty minutes I'm at 15k. Within an hour I have 30k. But it sucks they raise the prices 😕 and also made breeding time longer 😭.

Using this strat I get around 20k in a day, it is better if you go to an empty server and harvest apple barrels

Tip: Buy woven lassos go to the zebra things Catch some and you'll get like 3-200 dollars if you sell. Hope this helps! ♡

Another thing: breed your horses if you can, and sell the baby, if you want your can keep it though

I buy max 40 string lassos at a time and use them. Sure, it's slower but the profit is better. Helps build it up

I reccomend catching equus horses instead of normal ones cause equuses are worth more ( sometimes less ) that normal horses

I found getting food easier and cheaper for me. Just the other day I got from 3k to 21k. Plus just mass breeding then selling the foals work as well.
