  • The Flying Scotsman holds the record for hauling the first ever non-stop London to Edinburgh service in 1928. It was the first locomotive to reach 100mph in 1934 and the first steam engine to travel all around the world (with visits to the USA and Australia).
The A3 Pacific Class “Flying Scotsman” LOCOMOTIVE, built in 1923, (variously numbered, during its history, as 1472, 4472, 502, 103, and 60103) is now owned by the National Railway Museum and can usually be seen at the museum, in York, when it is not hauling special trains.
    Welcome the Flying Scotsman TSW5
