Love, love the little v snip outs around corner/curves. 50 years of sewing and have never seen or thought to do that. No more extra bulk inside the seams. This new grandbaby will now have bibs added to the burp rags and mitre corner blankets. Thank you so much, love your tutorials!!
Sew cute! Just in time for some new babies I need to craft for!👶💕😉 TIP: for the clips to mark the openings..... I save my RED clips and only use them to mark openings. Makes it visually easy, I start at one red clip and end at the other😉
Going to try this, have already used your tutorial to make the self binding receiving blankets and matching burp cloth’s, easiest one to follow and looks so good. Thank you.
Thank you for the video. Always wonder how to do the little pocket.. I purchase the bib then watched how you sew the long thread to pull away later.. I have 2 girlfriends who are due this year.. so I will be making heaps of this.. thanks again look forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers 😅
@@JanHowell I love the pace. So many other channels, I have to rewind and watch over and over or they leave out important steps (for a newbie like me) and I find that frustrating- yours is great. 😊
Great pattern. I need a large size pattern for Dementia or Alzheimer patients. Can this be made large enough for that? Large enough to cover their entire shirt with maybe a pocket on the bottom to catch foods? They are very expensive and I try to make things to donate to the memory care and most in local nursing homes. Namesta my sweet Friend.💓🤗🐞🥰💖
Hi Lala, I haven't forgotten about your comment! I've been thinking on this. What a great idea!. They had bibs for my Dad when he was in a care center. And now my mom is in memory care and that would be so nice to make and donate some to her facility. The one's they had for my dad were made of polyester fabric, so they they washed easily and were protective. I'm working out a pattern and will let you know what I come up with. Thanks for the suggestion. I love that you make things to donate to memory care and nursing homes. !!!!!!!!! You could use this pattern as a base, but you'd have to add quite a bit to the sides and length and tweak the neck to fit an adult. I'll work on it.
Thank you thank you my sweet friend Jan! 🤗🐞🥰 By the way there's never any rush to get back to me I know you're very busy person and I appreciate all you do for us namaste
Hi Jan.. I love this bib tutorial. I was wondering if.. is one if the fabrics you used pul? Or is this all cotton? Would you do anything differently if one side was terry cloth, pul,or flannel?
Pul fabric would be a great option for one side or both. Use clips instead of pins. I just posted a video using pul for a changing mat. There will be some tips on that vid that would be helpufl. th-cam.com/video/ae3DxjQ0tbs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ig9QreDEAFvHacVH
Hi Jan, just recently found your channel. Thanks for all the wonderful, simple tutorials. I am very much a beginner but just had our first grandbaby born. So I'm binging on the baby tutorials. When you made the little slits before turning, is that similar to using pinking shears? Thanks!
Yes, you can use them if you have a pair. However, I do find making slits around the neck works a bit better and has less chance of fraying. Glad you found me!
I have made the item and found after i have added the snap last. When finished the snap won't work. Found that to be b very frustrating. It happened after adding a pocket to a shopping. bag.

Great idea ! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll be using the double clips from now on to mark the opening. 😀
Thanks so much, I make simple baby blankets for people at work. Now I can make matching bibs.
Wonderful!
Just had surgery and as soon as I can get back to machine, these are top on my list for grandson!
Hope your recovery is quick and that you can get sewing again soon. ♥
