Great video, I have not seen anyone say that too much heat can damage the quick solder, I have had this problem where the solder does not flow, this is probably why. Thank you.

Ah ha!! Makes sooooo much sense. I luckily haven’t melted jump rings yet, but I’ve gone through some wire, tubing, snaptites etc... Just what I needed to help me get more controlled soldering 👩🏼🏭👍🏻 Back to ring making and settings tomorrow 😺

It would be good to show us flame volume for different jobs. When you say “the bushy part of the flame” does that mean outside the cone, whether you have the gas turned up high versus lower?
This is a little off topic, but I’m wondering if you could do a video showing how to solder very small elements together efficiently. Specifically I’m trying to make small sterling silver beads from dapped halves (7/16ths of an inch rounds) and it’s extremely difficult to keep the halves together as they’re heated. Thank you for all of your tips, love your generous spirit, and you are a gifted teacher.

let me just say what I learned this week. Nordic gold, is unsuitable for jewerly. it forms an insane amount of slag that will not melt and crummy up your crucible and casting and it will not flow properly. its terrible.
This man has the BEST tutorials on soldering, thanks for showing us, if you can't solder you can't take your jewellery making to the next level.

Heat control through the application of torch and heat sinks is very important.

Cary Meiners it’s paste solder. Comes in a syringe. It’s expensive.

Yes it can but it devalues the gold and so you really shouldn’t use it on anything but silver or copper

I am from Wales. A small part of Britain. We all have a way of saying things such as the Americans omitting the l in solder
