2010 was the last year Axl’s voice was at 100% power. He lost a lot of it from 2012-14 but improved it a lot in 2016. But since they went back on the road after the pandemic his rasp is completely gone

Me personally I think that him doing AC/DC and Gnr at the same Time like that (and you know how powerful that was in acdc) pretty much killed off what left he had. However though, from recent little clips here and there, I have been able to hear it sometimes. So I like to think that it’s still there but he really really has to reach down deep to get it and at his age and strain his vocal cords have endured, I think it’s just getting too difficult for him to be doing that. Nonetheless, he is and always will be a singer god!

Exactly. Do you think it was his run with ACDC that did it? Strained it beyond repair? I've done both voices (I do cover band stuff here and there) and neither is easy. But, Brian's stays in that screechy high register more consistently. GnR stuff seems to go there a few times a song- builds up to it vs. constant.

@@tomiton6661 I think overtime especially has past 2016-2019 were the good years Axl sounded really good when Slash and Duff rejoined the band I feel now he’s in his 60s and needs to retrain his voice to his age now to hit raspy notes but also clean and not be struggling
I love these two groups but honestly I prefer the current one not because of the voice but because of how happy everyone seems especially Axl, just watches Glostonbury, Axl just spent the whole night having fun But I also like the one from 2010, honestly it's a very good lineup although people hate DJ for some reason, Axl sounds fair and everyone in the band gives everything I love both lineups but again I'm sticking with the current one just because I really love the current Axl and his energy on stage
