Nice looking project there! Next time why not try your hand at building the 1/16 scale Dumas 44 foot USCG Lifeboat. It's a 33 inch plank-on-frame replica of a 44 foot USCG lifeboat utilizing 1/4" X 33" balsa strips for the hull. I constructed one in my 20's. Installed twin 6 volt motors and used a 6 channel Futaba RC unit to operate it. For a while I had both motors independently controlled so I could spin the boat 360 deg. in its own length. Alas, I gave it away to my cousin for his 2 sons to enjoy.
It look like a pretty cool boat! I may even be able to convert controls from a real boat and a Futaba controller I have to create a “training controller “ if-you-will. Could be fun!
