Sakura has to help her with that. And Naruto needed an illusion from Toneri so that he could see the memories of Hinata who thought of him all the time.. No, but seriously... If I'm told that it's not the most forced ship to the history of all the manga.... Naruto never thought of her after all his time and they need a movie for that with the help of sakura who is telling some bullshit like naruto you never was in love with me it's just because that you were in rivalry with Sasuke lol Kishimoto took us for serious fools. so sorry but no this couple is the forced one I've ever seen. For me, they destroyed t plot, and they had a lot of time and movies to show their path to love. One movie is not enough, where for two series + movies, there was no moment where Naruto felt anything for Hinata. The waterfall scene doesn't count because Naruto didn't know it was her. Fight with Pain too, because it was about something else. I was surprised that when Naruto saved the village, he didn't say a word to Hinata, and yet it was the perfect moment to start their story. After all, Hinata did more for Naruto than Sakura did for Sasuke.
that's a cop out answer, Minato and kushina who barely had screentime, a majority of fans agree they were perfect for eachother. Tsunade and Jiraiya, he made them have a great story together, yes they never got together in the end but all the times we saw them together, we felt the chemistry, history and bond. When it was implied/hinted that something might happen if jiraiya returned from that mission, we all felt goosebumps and happy that the old perv would finally get the girl. Kishi did a damn good job at setting up these ships/potential ships, and yet he couldn't set up Hinata/Naruto? heck he. set up Sakura Naruto pretty damn well in all series and movies. Truth is kishi wasn't even sure what ship he wanted until the war arc where Hinata all of a sudden got more screen time and development towards Naruto. he can write convincing pairs but that's only if he planned for them to be together from the start. You could probably fit all of Hinatas appearance on screen in maybe 10 chapters or something.
