While creating the Build pipeline, the 'copy files' task itself is copying the required Artifacts to the $(Build. ArtifactstagingDirectory) location on the Agent server right and this is the default location for Release pipeline to fetch the Artifacts. On this note, what is the need of 'Publish Artifact' task here in CI pipepline? I mean, when the artifacts are already there in the required locaiton for CD pipleline, why should we create a publish task again? Please help to understand this. Thank you.

Hi bro Instead of taking MySQL server.i have taken SQL server.But in the release pipeline i haven't mentioned SQL task, i have mentioned only app service deployment task and i have deployed. it gets succeed. when i browse an app service url it just asking employee's username and password to fill. So, without mentioning SQL task in release pipeline? How it is showing employee's username and password to fill? Is this happens due to the artifact produced in the CI pipeline?

Publish task is to retrieve the artifact form agent server and make it available for release pipeline through drop location

Nice question and practical. It's just a front-end asking you credentials. When you enter a username and password of course it fails.
