    Mate, mate, mate! Why do you think Australia has had sooo many World Champions? I know the answer as I’ve raced against some (well before they reached the pinnacle in success) is simple. They, like me, started out racing in the 250 production class in Australia! These bikes were all basically the same (just with all the road stuff removed, except the tyres) and with full fibreglass fairings. Not as slow as the ones you have just ridden, however it’s still relative. I was never as good as them and could name more than 4 times the amount of riders. So I will just name 4 (just to keep the numbers equal). Gardner, Doohan, Corsa and the other Troy being Bayliss (who I actually did race against). So, to summarise, learning your craft on a small displacement bike WORKS! The 4 racers I’ve named don’t need any explaining however the formula works, the rest is history... Awesome video mate! Thank you! 👍😎🇦🇺

      Mate, I love your comments. Always waiting for them! 👍 I reckon my motorcycle heroes are all Aussie too. Do you reckons it's worth selling my SV650 and getting a MiniGP bike just for training? I'm not sure what my eventual goal is aside from getting good, but I'd like to enter a few clubman races next year maybe. In a car I was always considered a legend so I guess I miss those old days and want to be the same on 2 wheels haha 😎🏁

      My plan is slow and steady and let my other mate Adam (there's two Adams) get the times while I just go for not crashing and set constant times. Fingers crossed 🍀

      Just found out there is a "no faster than 56 second" rule in place. Im averaging 56.1, so I should be ok haha

    Great bikes but I would take the engine out and put a 250cc or 125cc 2 stroke engine in

    glad you discovered minis! try and catch a ride on an nsf100 or nsr50 if you ever get the chance.
    also, if you wanna go faster, TURN THAT HEAD A LOT MORE

      i owned a kayo 125 (kinda meh bike compared to the nsf honestly) and had a bit of fun with it for a couple years. My problem with kayo would be them liking to lose parts and break down. here's some old vids from the old channel

      My head hey...I still struggle with body position/form. At the time I think I'm doing it right then when I see a video of me from the outside I'm riding like Doohan used to. It feels natural but looks shite. Haha. I guess I need to keep on practicing. On the plus side my average lap times are 56.1 seconds and the endurance race has a "no faster than 56 second rule" so I'm safe in that regard. It's actually only meant for a maximum of 100cc bikes but the organiser really wants us to enter so he's bent the rules to let us enter with a 150cc bike but has limited the lap times.

    • @Mad8vCycles
      @Mad8vCycles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bikehubjapan times will get better as you get more laps. forget bp for now (do shoulders over if anything) and work on vision. aim to the exit of the corner. the speed, throttle, etc. will come from vision
      you can practice this in a parking lot or wherever really including on your sv.

      notice how cranked over my head is. then once you get comfortable in both directions, add a second cone and make it a figure 8
