Dude I could totally live right there in that camping spot. Imagine a little log cabin there a nice covered fishing dock to cover the boat and nobody around for miles! Just need a herd of good ole dogs to watch camp and maybe let the ole lady come visit once in a while lol.
That would be a special kind of paradise. I dream of a house like that someday.

No experience on the tenn. But on the Roanoke one of the gauges is really close to the dam and 1ft of rise at the gauge will translate to like 4ft 5miles downriver

Quick question.
When you and others say that catfish can tend to get down down in the mud on the bottom in the winter to get warmer, do they just lay on top of the mud or are they digging completely underneath of it out of view?
I ask because I got a deal on an underwater camera that I'll toss in while my poles are also in. While I pull it across the bottom (unless I put in under a bobber) I have seen bass, and other smaller fish, and even crawfish, but I have yet to see a full view of any catfish in one of my local lakes that I caught catfish in this past summer.
I saw the whiskers of one in a different lake further away but then it swam out of view.
So once again, do they get completely out of view under the mud, or are the visible on top of the mud?
I'm going mad trying to figure out why I'm not seeing or catching even a small one right now. Can't believe I havn't had atleast a few come into view.

No you've got it totally wrong, because winds from the East, they bite like a beast.
To heck with negative attitude about that, because I've caught good fish size wise, and numbers.
It all depends on what the pressure is doing, and if there's a major change coming in.
Y'all know this is true, and how many times have you seen this happen.
I doubt it is a regional thing, because Texas is big enough to have multiple weather patterns that overlap one another sooner are later.

I've always had more trouble catching fish when they are pulling water levels down.
Same thing I noticed on the Gulf, because on slack tide fish are difficult.
But when it turns around, and the tides coming up.
They turn on like someone rang the time to eat bell, and everything is good for whoever happens to be in the prime places ready to take care of business.

I have nothing but pure disgusted contempt for those in that state. See it wasn't even at flood stage but they just dumped water from the dams, especially the one you're behind. Dam you were below last year was raised 25 foot, actually 35 foot from last year at this time, had to release some. Those georgians don't have a care about anyone but what they want, didn't even need to happen.
We're flooded, the entire river you were on last year. It finally crested today where I sit. Have 8-9 inches under my RV, 18-20 around me in the yard, including the street. 3-5 feet down the road, houses on stilts flooding, be a week before we're able to get to town.
I just looked at the gauges. That's nuts man. Hard to imagine what it looks like at that level. I bet every catfish in the river is below the dam right now. Hope you're safe man. Looks like it should be dropping fairly quick.
@@RiverCertified I'm below Blountstown, crested there Sat. morning. We crested around midnight last night. Hasn't dropped a tenth of a foot yet but will start doing so faster overnite.
I stopped 2 Army Corps Engineers mid last week at our ramp. Explained to them their predicted flow was going to flood us. Said they didn't know, then I showed them on their own graph with my street listed as flooding at that flow, the street they were 100 feet from. Went ahead and let those dams up north do what they wanted.
