- Join Steve this week as he tackles the thing that’s been on his mind to upgrade since the day we picked up the motorhome, and it’s something that’s been bugging him since then, the stereo.
The head unit itself is fantastic, but the sound that comes out of it is awful, it lacks clarity and bass, so Steve headed over to the guys at Blade Ice in Cranfield to get a huge audio upgrade.

That's alot of work for one day! Fair play. Nothing better than a good sound system for a long road trip, I have a JBL 4 way setup with Amp and Sub in my Tow Car. It has to be done. Also Kisstory is the one 👍

Your investing so much into this Moho you’ll never be able to part with it in years to come. I remember our first Moho (autotrail) had a remote for the sound system, I miss that feature.

@@RoamingRadfords yup I love my music driving and listening to music is one of my favourite things to do and when I got my van getting a new stereo and changing out the speakers was one of my first modifications there is nothing worse than having rattly old speakers spoiling your favourite tunes lol 😂

Not yet! Phil popped over to do a couple more tweaks last week and we have a couple more getting done this week, then we’re ready to hit the road on Friday 👍

You guys and your bloody upgrades🤣🤣🤣....I had convinced myself that the Audio upgrade on my current build was going to either not happen....or just go on the back burner for a while. But you hit the nail on the head when you said how it made you feel on the drive home. I have had a few vans with some pretty good audio upgrades. I felt I may be over it....but I think not😂😂😂😂. I have room under my seat for a sub and maybe a small amp, and the front speakers will have to go.

Had Audison do a custom upgrade on my last van with 7’ rear speakers, anticipating doing the same in the autumn when we start using the new one. Already lined up a review next month to see what can be done.
We left the original tweeters, and put bigger ones than would fit, which were very cool on a wee stand, tight in the corners so no fouling of blinds.

Fantastic upgrades! You can’t beat a decent setup with an amp and sub! The PO of our motorhome did similar, I’ve never messed with the setup though, perhaps I should have a tinker 😂😎👍🏻

Lot of upgrades in the van, however still manual transmission 🤔
We’ve always had a manual transmission in every one of our motorhomes. Manual transmission is the standard in the UK.
Is there anything left to upgrade! you are trying to find something more. How about a 360 camera system.

No it’s running through our inverter, as is the rest of the van
Amazing! So all the speakers work from the car stereo when driving and from your Alexa device when pitched up, including the tweeters and the door speakers?

Thanks Lindsay. We setup Alexa through our router. We have the large Echo Show 15, although any Alexa would work, and this would work with the standard stereo, you don’t need anything else.

Hi, would it be rude to ask what you do for a living ? I can not afford to purchase such a Motorhome never mind the upgrades you are adding !
Don’t get me wrong - I am not having a go - I just feel somewhat bemused when I see a fellow Motorhomer making additions / improvements at will ?
Given the means - I would do the same - I just don’t get where I am going wrong ? 😳.
We spent 20 years building a Signs and Graphics business here in Milton Keynes. We still own and run that business, but TH-cam is now our Day to Day job.
How much weight have you added? Are you approaching your chassis maximum?
The audio upgrade didn’t add that much weight and we weighed our motorhome in our previous video

Great upgrade and you got a hell of a lot for your money!!! Really enjoyed that as my van is eventually coming after almost a 2 year wait!! I emailed auto trail and it’s due for fit out on 25th July, it’s a Fiat so definitely will be needing a speaker upgrade also!!!

Lyndsey’s face was a picture, good job you didn’t tell her the cost before fitting Steve. It would be interesting to know how much you’ve spent on upgrades, I think we’re up to about £12 grand on after delivery upgrades, if the van ever arrives.

Well good luck with your new sound system it looks fantastic I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. However I'm very disappointed in you the guy works all day and you give him Pot Noodles. Come on even you can do better than that.

You probably should have bought a better MH in the first place,would have saved you a lot of money.
There isn’t a motorhome available with the upgrades we’ve done. This is why we chose the perfect motorhome with the best layout as a blank canvas to do all the upgrades we had planned to do.
Two thing’s you need to concentrate on your driving especially with such an expensive motor home not be distracted by your sound system on the move. The second comment is hope the rest of the camp site has not got to listen to your type of music.
Better sound quality doesn’t automatically equate to anti social behaviour on camp sites. And while there are two of us travelling, I’m pretty sure the passenger will manage the “tunes” so the driver isn’t distracted!
Please dont say Alexa when your doing these videos or at least bleep it out like everyone else does, its very annoying
