I tried doing a walking animation for 4 hours straight and it is still not smooth, I gave up and posted it like that. After all, its my first animation. We all Gott start somewhere! FRZART They are important principles you need to know to be able to animate like a professional, idk many of them so you should research for yourself but some are like exaggeration, the volume and size so if something changes shape or moves it still retains the same volume, the "blur" effect where instead of drawing many different arms when a character is for example shaking their arm quickly you just draw a few and the rest you use lines and blurring to give the impression of movement, etc

I'm late to the party, but this tutorial is really helpful for my own show I'm working on! I learned about the general feel for making turnarounds from LavenderTowne, and while I adore her art tutorials; she's nowhere near professional. You guys really helped me work out the kinks!

this is great guys! thanks for this tutorial, you probably know this already but in photoshop if you want to hide all level expet one you can press alt and click on the eye of the level you only want to show... it will hide every other layer exept that one.

Also cool cheat is if you make your 2D character on a 3D animation app and now u gave a doll of your character to make it turn around and then it can help u when u put it on the animation app so you can trace it get more of a feel for it or make it look smoother

Also cool cheat is if you make your 2D character on a 3D animation app and now u gave a doll of your character to make it turn around and then it can help u when u put it on the animation app so you can trace it get more of a feel for it or make it look smoother
