I've had beautiful looking food taste like crap. Not always about presentation. That quesabirra consume looked like toasted guajillo or ancho or campanitas for the mix to be that dark. All Hispanic areas make the consume different. Still could be authentic depending on the area.
Definitely depends on which employees are working. I've eaten at the same restaurant, where one night the foods a ten and the very next night its a five at best.
It's so nice to have seen this channel back when it was meme'd out for Five Guys, and then have it pop back into my feed, reviewing restaurants and giving them fair shakes for quality and service against their review scores. That's some positivity we sorely need these days, and I'm glad to see it.

I think a lot of the time when a place has bad reviews and a low score it's possible it's popular and very good but people don't review when it's good. Whenever it's bad you can Guarantee folk will take the time to complain. It's not always a fair representation

Exactly. In my experience yelp ratings are almost always lower than other review platforms. Way more people use Google reviews than yelp nowadays. He should go by Google or whichever platform has the most reviews.

Like I was saying before on the 1st video... A good authentic taco doesn't even need lime or salsa, because the meat was moist and well prepared, including the toppings... Salsa n limes are not going to help a dry taco🌮 💯...

You doing great work for small businesses that struggled but are trying their best to come back. Low reviews damage a business even after they have fixed the problem because the reviews don't just disappear so it's awesome to see you do some justice to the ones out there that don't deserve those ratings.

WIthout Yelp's undermining reviews, the food and ambiance of this establishment looked like it had potential to become a great place. The first tacos you've sampled at Plaza Azteca are the birria quesatacos with the consumme cup on the side, and I"m glad you liked it.

I was a cook in several high end restaurants for about ten years and it's both incredibly important and incredibly DIFFICULT to be consistently great. If you don't have the entire staff on point every single day something is going to slip through . It's so easy to just get the food on the plate and get it out so you can do the next one and over and over and over . A great manager or chef will find ways to make the employees care and love putting out the best dishes they can but thats rare .
Honestly the lime simply compliments the meat like the cilantro or onion as opposed to the salsa which masked the taste. Two radically different garnishes in my opinion.

This place got slammed into the ground, you even had doubts before going in, but you didn't take any assumptions in with you, gave them a fair shot and came out raving about how great it was. as someone who used to be a server, lots of karens that negatively review for the smallest things, i swear. people leave shitty reviews sometimes just for having to wait 15-20 mins nowadays or being told they have to wait to have their party of 10 seated.

One thing I don't like about hard shell tacos is that they (as you saw) break up after the first bite or two. Then I find at least you have to use a fork or something to finish them.
I definitely know how to cook but I love trying food from other places! Also don’t like the clean up.. Also after working all day, prep work is a beast!

Great review my dude. It looks like really good food but I have to be that guy. It's Tex Mex as opposed to authentic Mexican cuisine. Don't get me wrong, it looks tasty. My Mexican wife would be ashamed of this food haha. Well not entirely, I would destroy that food. Hardshell isn't a thing in Mexico, flour is quite uncommon for tacos. It's corn all the way. They also would allow you to build your own instead of adding everything for you. They should have a variety of salsas on the side ranging in heat. Please visit Mexico my man!
I grew up in San Diego, ate Mexican food my whole life. I moved to upstate NY a couple of years ago and they have NO good Mexi food here, so I took it upon myself to make it legit, and I'm damn close to the real deal. Just by looking at that food, I can tell it was at least halfway decent (of course I'd have to taste it), but it all looked done nicely. The only thing I would say, is never order a hard shell taco when you are trying to have authentic Mexican. They don't use hard shells, that's an American thing. You could tell by that one hard shell he had, the fillings didn't spread out, he took a bite from the middle to adjust for that. So if you are use to having hard shells, save that for home and Taco Bell.
Something I love always about Mexican places. When they place music from non Mexican artists. At 7:10 Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra was playing in the background!
It is very easy to pile on when an establishment drops the ball (like the gas station cheesesteak place, for example), but when they go full Jalen Hurts and take it to the house, ya gotta show love. I'm liking this channel and if I am ever in CT, I at least have some good reviews to look for - from someone who has at least done the research.
they opened up a location in Morgantown, WV recently and when I say it is now my go to Mexican place, i am not exaggerating. the salsa might be the best salsa I have ever had. and the birria tacos are amazing. and the fact they have black beans instead of refried was great too.
This is why I don't take many reviews serious, sure sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire. But a majority of the time its just either a bad day or someone who isn't understanding of what may or could be going on.
I feel like reviews on Google are more accurate than Yelp. Yelp reviews are usually filled with folks who have an ax to grind against establishments. On Google they have a 4.7 average and your review accurately reflects that.
