Trevor Dennis you can just take the blade guard off 😂 just gotta be more careful when cutting. Use a cut up 2x4 to push it. I didn’t really see any issues with this machine
Did you guys buy one this guy probly works for different company or tries to make ryobi look bad or something I want to know does the saw work an get my job done I need
We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Have the saw. Love it. Best 127 dollars I have spent on a light weight and wonderful tool. None of these so called flaws mean anything to an old timer. It cuts beautifully for what I need to use it for
Damn.... How long did it take a whole team to come up with 5 completely off the wall things you dislike about this saw....... Rediculous waste of time on this video !!!!!
The thing that I dislike the most about this saw, is the non standard tabbed miter slots. On a positive note, I bought it for it's small size, light weight, and it meets my current needs.
This has been helpful! I’m looking to get this saw soon and I think I can cope with with these issues. But it’s really nice to have a heads up! Thanks!
I own one, and have no complaints about it. For the price it is the better purchase for the beginner into wood working. Put in 60 tooth diablo saw blade and enjoy. Rip or cross cut. For the beginner thats the perfect match.
It's a pain to turn it into a work bench, it's not battery powered, it can be turned on if you turn on the switch. If you want a work bench, build a work bench, if you want a battery powered saw, buy a battery powered table saw. If you don't want it to turn on unplug it. Seems like this review was really trying to find anything negative to say about it. lol
Yes I wish it had a removable key system. I’m so sick of my saw plugging itself in and turning itself on when I’m not around 🤦🏼♂️. These safety Sally’s kill me.
Kids are stupid, always have been and always will be. Some grow out of it, some don't. A way to lock it out is more important in a residential garage frequented by not only your kids, but also neighbors than a professional shop or work site. That said a padlock is a better solution than a dedicated key. Since i do have a "universal key" for those if needed.
#1 worst thing I discovered about this saw - driving home from Home Depot, unboxing and finding out they sold me a used piece of equipment. The saw itself was clean but the rip fence was full of sawdust and scratched all to hell. #2 worst thing - trying to rebox with all the styrofoam to return it
I have used mine for over 2 yrs. No issues at all. Bought it during Ryobi Day sale at Home Depot for under $200.00 taxes included. I would buy it again..
Dust collection has standard sizes. And that is the smaller size tubing on a standard system. Just fyi they don’t make shop vacs with the same size hose so people are less likely to try to run a shop vac as a dust collector
I agree with your comments. I do think you should add the inability to build your own jig or sled due to the unusual way Ryobi made the channels. It is also very difficult to be accurate setting a precise angle for the blade unless you want 90 degrees. The Plunge router is even worse.
I've got a different but similar low end ryobi table saw. The two things I really don't like about it are i) the slots aren't standard sizes .. I don't think you can buy tracks for it?, and ii) the ends make it very difficult to add a sled. I wish I'd got something different. It seems designed to stop you extending it yourself.
Why the hell would you want a friggin table saw battery powered? It's 15 amp, the last thing you'd want is a friggin table saw running out of power while you're ripping through wood..my gosh. "You know, i wish my dewalt 715 miter saw was battery powered" - things I've never said or dreamed. Other than that ridiculous last remark, thanks for the pointers.

Dont want battery cause i keep it in my truck... the cold winter arm battery 😋. Is the precision of the guide is good? Is it straight ? Hold firm?
This may be the worst tool video I've ever watched. 1. Most table saws say the raise the riving knife when you put on the pawls. You can drop it afterwards. whining it's too high is just ignorance on how to use a table saw. 2. Being upset that a Shopvac fits it an a portable Ryobi vac doesn't simply doesn't make any sense. If t was compatible with the Ryobi vac, then it wouldn't be compatible with a Shopvac. Buy an adapter or make one. 3. You don't have to lower the blade when it's off. Unplug or even put a cover over it. It's not hard. 4. Maybe. It's a portable. 5. Saying it should be battery powered is the dumbest thing on this video. Pay $150 more and buy a cordless then.
Glad you pointed everything out. I totally agree with you. The whole time I was watching, I was thinking the same about this guy. He was whining too much. Excellent price especially it's portable.
Battery power is asking a lot of a table saw although I would love to see that. I have the solid base “ non folding” which isn’t super tough but it gets it done. The fence leaves a lot to be desired. Have to check measurements with a tape to make sure it makes a straight cut. When it runs it runs, I have had it run for 20-30 cuts with no breaks with 10 foot 2X4 and no issues. It spits a lot of dust out of the front adjustment, enough that I tape that to make several cuts. Overall for the money it’s a decent saw they just need to gather on the details.
I agree a 40 volt battery table saw would be awesome (like the lawn mower) if you need portability, which is the reason for the small table footprint - now just follow through with the next logical step! 😎👌
I got one an it’s ripped through all the hardwood right out of the box good and straight 🤷🏻♂️ just had to support the extension for the extended rip capacity
What I do like about this saw is the price! About 50% less than any competitor. Unless you're staring your own carpentry business, I think it does the job!
2 things I wish I knew before bought this saw online without closer look.. 1. Blade cover is very thin and non standard : cannot install a zero blade clearance cover. 2. The table slides slots are also non standard: too narrow and shallow for table guides other than the flimsy one that came with the saw. This saw is powerful but very limited usefullness. There is good reasons it is not a $400 saw.
5 trivial gripes, but missed the monster design flaw on this saw: those stupid tabs on the miter tracks that make it impossible to use or make standard sleds or featherboards or anything else without alterations.
04:32 Yes, Ryobi should make there table saws compatible with shop vacs, because thats what shop vacs are for. Maybe Ryobi could send some duck tape to your channel. Lol.
What I really think about all your opinion is that you are a dewalt seller and all you are trying to do is to take ryobi down but your words doesn't affect me at all 😀
I have this saw and I have only 2 complaints. one my model has only one runner not two. Secondly the runner has a weird slotted track groove. not easy to made you cutting sleds in those tracks. I guess thirdly I agree they could had made the table bigger or added a tleast the side extender on this model as well.
I just bought one. The fence, which seems more rigid than their previous version, must have been made so inaccurately, you can't possibly rip a piece evenly across any length greater than a foot. I am disgusted. In looking for a new one, I came across this link from google and had to see what was said. This info was missing, so I thought I would warn the rest of you

What is the difference between the ryobi rts22 vs the rts23. I found a used rts22 for 112 dollars and I see that the rts23 costs 270 dollars and they basically look the same so I was wondering what’s the difference and if the rts22 for 112 dollars is worth it?
i guess if you want a $500+ saw, all those items you mentioned would be taken care of. i find it perfect for around the house projects, dont care about all the other negatives you talked about. awesome tool for under 200 bucks
1) riving knife - lowering the blade on almost all jobsite saw with the riving knife all the way up will lead to it sticking out at the top...so??? 2) security key - I have not seen any of the other brands with this feature either...again...so??? what's your point here? 3) table overall width...yeah, I agree with this one. 4) battery - It's ok to have when the power goes out...but I prefer a cable...I don't care for the battery powered saws...especially if you use it ALL DAY LONG...you will need a power source to charge it anyway... I'll mark this up to personal preference.... side note. I would not buy one of those anyway...if you need a cheap saw, buy a really cheap one that you could just replace with another cheap one...other wise buy a good one... dewalt, bosch pro stuff or metabo even...
You still have the guard on wrong. The black bar should be parallel to the top of the table. Also, riving knife down is for non through cuts. Knife up for through.
I would add a sixth thing to your list and that would be the plastic throat plate. It is structurally weak. I was attempting to shave a 2x4 on edge when the saw blade grabbed the 2x4 and forced the end down into the throat plate jamming the saw and breaking the throat plate.
So you wish that one of the cheapest table saws on the market, had a feature, that some of the most expensive table saws have? Which is being battery powered?
Its a sub $200 portable table saw. Its got a 10" blade at 15 Amps. You really get nitpicky in this vid. The only thing I do agree with is the flimsy blade guard.
I think I would be able to work around this list of small complaints. In the video however I heard what I think was a very flimsy fence? Can you please tell us your thoughts on that? Thanks, Rodney
The fence can be as tight or loose as u need it/want it to be. If u are referring to the blade guard yes it slightly move in towards the blade a little, however that is from left to right, u will be pushing wood through the blade not against it, this is why the manufacturer came up with this design, saves them money, saves us money 💰
Clearly you didn’t really test this saw to come up with that list. Bc I ve had my saw for 2 years n here’s my top five. 1 The control panel, the angle lever n the n the turn knob are too close together can never adjust one without hitting the other and you biggest complaint was the power switch? That why say u never use this saw. 2 the angle lever works it’s way loose n difficult to tighten. 3 The riding knife will not aligned with the blade common issues among others I ve read. 4 The guide has a lot of play difficult to line up must use a carpenter s sq. 5 The over quality is very cheap I know its 150 I would def spend the x money to upgrade.
05:08 Ryobi needs to put a safety warning next to the big red power button. WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE EQUIPMENT PLUGGED IN WITH THE LOCK DISENGAGED IN THE ROOM OF A TODDLER WITHOUT DIRECT PARENT SUPERVISION.
I was hoping for things about how it cuts and necessary features. Instead this video was just unnecessary complaints in my opinion. I understand everything he said makes life way easier. But not having those things is not a deal breaker.
Blade guard? Oh, I remember those! Those are for people who work where there's a chance of OSHA showing up. They don't use Ryobi on those jobsites, anyway. I'll go ahead and leave the blade guard in the box, where it belongs. Lol
Got one. It's decent, but the blade holding screw heads wore out within a few months. The plastic turn knobs slip, and their hex heads stripped. (Mostly due to the included allen wrench rounding off super easily.) Managed to use other screws, but it's a hassle. The only thing I can really diss the saw on given the price.
it has those stupid tabs on the miter slots, deal breaker for me. my old saw has that and I hated it. you can grind them off but I'd rather get something better
Rather minor complaints about a saw of this caliber. The single item that negates your review was the battery comment. Do the math my friend and then tell me where you are going to put the 50 to 60-pound battery that will cost four times as much as the saw ;)
You're bringing up a lot of stuff that comes on thousand dollar tools like it's expected on a 200 dollar tool. Lmao ok. Actually I've had a 3000 dollar saw that didn't come with a key. That's just nit picking
#1 is the blade guard. Easy fix I dont use em. riding knife smiding knife. It's a saw not a damn work bench #2 like a hotdog down a hallway #3 again it's a saw. Not a truck. #4 that's what she said. #5 just cant be satisfied can you?

Only complaint #2 is a real reason, everything else is just being too picky
I would love if it was able to transform into race car, I love racing after the hard day at site lol 😂
How to assemble an hour TS 23 tablesaw I would like to find a video on that
I got a Ryobi table saw, you are right ! it is worst!!!
Has anyone complained about the dust that kicks back into your face? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Still a good saw, and I wood still buy it.
Craiger 🤣... “wood still buy it” ... I see what you did there. 😉
You're nuts, it's not worth your time, money or stress
@@versatileduplicity9313 How so?! We had one and love it!
@@FahimibnDawud well if you’re using a tool with cheat plastic like base that can’t take dado
I like ryobi but the table saw I bought the blade angle adjustment is made up of cheap plastic so does not hold very good. Could be dangerous.
why would you ever need a flat surface? Just asking?
bwahaha...you guys are funny
I completely agree!
Just purchased this saw for 55$ display model i looks good to me this guy has to many complaints.
Would you recommend this over the Kobalt jobsite table saw?
03:40 Using a table saw as a flat surface? Why? Guess you should write to Ryobi to remove those slots.
I was hoping for things about how it cuts and necessary features. Instead this video was just unnecessary complaints in my opinion. I understand everything he said makes life way easier. But not having those things is not a deal breaker.
You skipped past the wonderful fence. I've learned how to make it operate more efficiently, but it's still a pretty iffy fence.
I don't like the track guide at all
Blade guard? Oh, I remember those! Those are for people who work where there's a chance of OSHA showing up. They don't use Ryobi on those jobsites, anyway. I'll go ahead and leave the blade guard in the box, where it belongs. Lol
Try to don’t waste your time bro your time it’s very valuable
Make a review video for the ryobi scroll saw.
Got one. It's decent, but the blade holding screw heads wore out within a few months.
The plastic turn knobs slip, and their hex heads stripped. (Mostly due to the included allen wrench rounding off super easily.)
Managed to use other screws, but it's a hassle. The only thing I can really diss the saw on given the price.
Title for the video should be, "5 extra steps for a responsible Ryobi saw owner."
@3:40 Well, it is a saw, not a table, this whole vid is a bit whinny.
it has those stupid tabs on the miter slots, deal breaker for me. my old saw has that and I hated it. you can grind them off but I'd rather get something better
Table saw with stand for under 200 USD. Worth.
Rather minor complaints about a saw of this caliber. The single item that negates your review was the battery comment. Do the math my friend and then tell me where you are going to put the 50 to 60-pound battery that will cost four times as much as the saw ;)
Seems to me you’re knit -picking a good saw !
I was thinking of buying this cheap saw but after your video I will not buy it.
Complaining about the fact that it's not battery powered is really stupid. You lost your credibility there with me.
Very dangerous saw. Some one can accidentally plug it in and press the on bottom causing the blade to spin…
Seriously, I've never seen such a thing.
It's a saw not a damn work bench
#2 like a hotdog down a hallway
#3 again it's a saw. Not a truck.
#4 that's what she said.
#5 just cant be satisfied can you?
