I ordered a battery and the tools, removed the back cover and when trying to unscrew the screws, I didn't find the right tool to remove them. I have a tripoint screws on my nexus5 while i saw cross-point screws on every other videos of "how to replace battery". I don't have the screwdriver so i'm stuck. Where can i find this particular type of screwdriver ?
Looks good. ... Mostly anyways. I'm scared of possibly popping the battery while removing it like that. I had a bad experience doing something similar on my LG Optimus G. I used a metal prying tool to slide under the battery into the adhesive and I ended up sparking something.
where'd you get your replacement? cuz I've bought 3 and only one was a Real LG BL-T9. can tell from the date on it and the imprint on the back should start "LGHD" then numbers and letters, usually 2 lines. I need to find a real one cuz I can't stand putting copycat crap in my beloved N5
Follow up? How did that battery hold up? Since this video was made, many 1 star reviews for these replacement batteries have appeared on Amazon.com. I don't see anywhere to get a well rated replacement battery.
Yeah... After a week, I'm not convinced I'm getting any better battery life. It might actually be worse... I'm wondering if I got a used or refurbished battery marked as new. Theoretically this procedure could still be useful, but only if you know you're replacing the original battery with something better. I've removed the link from the description since I'm not sure I'd recommend buying a battery from the same seller I used.
I've got a nexus 4. Much easier to just open the back and get a new battery. I've tried it 3 times and every time I get a battery that doesn't hold charge as well as the 3 year old battery that is in there. Something is really rotten with the state of replacement batteries. Seems almost like an effort on behalf of the giant companies to be sure we can't keep our phones alive & are forced to buy the new ones. That may sound conspiracy theory, but I bet the combination of Samsung, LG, Apple have some serious say about which batteries go to new phones & which can be used in the replacement aftermarket.

Bought this same battery a couple weeks ago, big difference in battery life now....
