I still can't believe Monti's not a worldwide Superstar. Such a talented musician in every aspect. Great song writer, Phenomenal guitarist, Great unique vocal talent. What do ya gotta do? Maybe he needs to go on AGT and show the world what real musical talent is.
First time I witnessed the genius of Monte Montgomery was at that very bar back in 1994. In between sets he sat at our table (he knew my friend I was with) and I immediately told him I was turning my guitar into a coffee table after listening to him. He’s still beating up that old Alvarez like the guitar god that he is!
I honestly don’t think he’ll ever match the ACL version of this. Fantastic player and writer but he has a tendency to really overplay. Mostly, I’m just insanely jealous of his ability! 😜

This is niche music. It's not mainstream. He's amazing, at a style that's only for a certain audience.

So cool to see Monte still TEARING IT UP like the master he is. And goddam that band is right up there.
I am SO looking forward to seeing Monte at the Dallas International Guitar Festival in May. Nice surprise from the drummer!
