Hello
Hey Brandon Herrera, if you are seeing this I would like to thank you for being one of the few people with brain cells.
👍
22-yr-old going 8/10 with a pistol from 120' away in a heated situation whose only training was "my grandpa taught me how to shoot"? Dude is a CHAMP. And then I heard his girlfriend, who is a nurse, immediately afterwards ran out to aid the folks who were wounded. MAN what a cool story. God bless these people
Proudest Grandpa in America right now.
This grandpa could start a marksmanship channel and make millions.
And all in under 15 seconds while filled with adrenaline.
That’s a very skilled marksman.
I like how modest he is.
not to rain on his parade, but he shot a few rounds at 40 yards and then closed distance, the rounds that stopped the guy were fired from around 20ish yards
Brandon I so wanna point out in Indiana it wasn't "ILLEGAL" to bring a firearm into a private business. Their " gun free zone" signs have no legal standings. At best you get asked to leave and hit with a trespassing warning. Many lawyers here including the guy covering Eli's legal case free of charge has also stated this. Indiana also has a law protecting justified shooters from civil law suits. It's called the "Good Samaritan Act" ironically.
Even if it was illegal, do it anyway
I believe the Good Samaritan Act is federal, but do correct me if I am wrong.
@@EzekiesAcheron if it was federal, i'm pretty sure our boy Kyle wouldn't have had to go through that hell of a trial.
I was thinking this. That’s how it is here in FL
@@EzekiesAcheron of it isn't federal it should be
this kid has so much guts. No way could I hit those 40 yard with all that adrenaline. Super stoked for him and the lives he saved!
I might have hit 2 out of 10 aint no way I would have hit 8 out of 10..... I need to get my a** to the range
40 yards 10 shots 15 seconds 8 hits. An absolute Chad.
Gotta get mo training. Though I don't remember 40yd range practice being high on most pistol shoots
Considering I've put about 200 rounds of target ammo through my edc and have a pretty crap accuracy at 20 yards, absolutely.
Don't plan to bang unless you plan to hit somethang.
“Moms demand action” my boy Eli sure did jump into action
Yeah, say what you want but at the end of the I’m pretty sure everyone who made it out of there would be jumping on the “Eli is a hero” bandwagon.

I still think "Moms Demand Action" sounds more like a category on an adult web page than a political group.
Brandon has a good point, just because you are a female with functioning reproductive organs doesn't mean you are some sort of infallible moral authority.
It just means you let a man nut in you and your internal bits work.
Hell of a shot. We need more well trained individuals like him.
Funny story is he only ever just did shooting with his granpappy.
IIRC he said he never really had any formal training.

The police chief released a statement saying it was a total elapsed time of 15 seconds. God tier reaction. Give this man a medal 🏅
It was 15 seconds after the monster starting shooting people that Eli started his shooting at the monster which took about 2 minutes.
@@Asidebar still way faster than the police.
@@getthegoonswhat are you trying to point out of course it’s faster than the police the cops can’t be everywhere at once
Eli broke no law. It was a mall policy, not a city ordanance. If the mall had asked him to leave and he refused then he would be guilty of trespassing.
A sign does not make something a law, I believe you are correct sir
It’s a similar thing as a dress code at a club or bar. It’s not against the law but it’s just the establishment’s policy
Again, don’t text this number it’s a scam
Most people don’t realize how strict the rules for the actual signage itself is anyway. My state for example if the sign shows anything other than just a gun such as a gun with a knife, it’s invalid. The line through the circle has to be a certain size, & only one side among many other things is legal. Those types of signs are typically state issued too, or at least there’s a main location with the state code. This is all important to know should your ever find yourself in a situation like this as it may make the difference. If you’re not sure go elsewhere. Start comparing the look of them at state buildings, & such with just a run of the mill store. Every state, & possibly cities/counties are probably different so know YOUR laws, but make sure they’ve got the right signs too. We have strict laws for no trespassing signs on private property. Generally on private property you have to be asked to leave, & refuse before there will be too much hassle if there’s a complaint if you’re carrying openly, or someone happens to get a glimpse. Know the laws the best you can from your local all the way up to the federal level.
That’s kind of the point of having a concealed carry
This is a Prime example of the saying "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6"
I'm quite fond of "better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war".
Lol in his case ignoring the SOFT TARGET signs while open carry
I appreciate the line from sir Cartier more that goes “I’d rather get caught with it, than without it” 🧐
22-yr-old CIVILIAN fires on RIFLE-wielding indiscriminate-shooter from 40yds/120ft away with a pistol, and gets enough hits in 10rds to kill.
Police need to be trained to this standard, but the same people who say police aren't trained well enough are the same people that want to #defundThePolice
We need to #fundThePolice far more than they're currently funded.
If we did, we'd have many more police who are trained as crisis intervention counselors/EMTs & even psychologists.
We'd also have many more police who are experts in martial arts that will have to use their guns far less.
In the circumstances they do, they'd be confident enough to charge in on the threat (unlike Uvalde) and be able to stop the threat much more quickly with minimal collateral damage.
Defund the police is a pipe dream, pure rhetoric, and leads to negative results.
Properly funding the police leads to officers who are highly trained in multiple fields, including being able to take the place of EMTs & crisis counselors in emergencies.
Even when you call 911 for emergency services such as medical & fire, police are often first‐on-scene.
It's happened to us (My Mom, Dad, and I) 3 times out of the 4 medical 911 calls we've had to make in the past 30 years. Might even be 4 out of 5.
@jonslg240 Agreed. More funding equals better training, but there also needs to be designated training like medical professionals for police every year instead of buying armored vehicles and such.
Also, more funding to police means fewer tickets and more warnings. Less quota systems because the funding will be there.

@@WayStedYou and don't forget how many crimes are prevented by even the sight of a gun. A lot of tomes it never has to be fired
True, but also a rare instance. There was also a good guy with a gun in Buffalo but he got gunned down because the shooter was wearing body armor. Which New York stupidly banned later.
I love how he even chose a gun free zone because it just shows exactly what gun free zones do. They create a populated unarmed crowd that is perfect for someone to take advantage of. Luckily we have people like Eli who dont follow those little signs because if he had many would’ve died.
In my state, Indiana, those no firearms allowed signs are literally just suggestions. Like, they literally hold no legal authority. If you're on private property the owner/active manager can request you leave for any reason at any time. Thats generally how that works in all states, but in Indiana, those signs are more of a statement: "we don't really want you to have a gun here." But you're not breaking any laws, I also ignore them. It's even legal to carry in banks here as well, which I used to do at my last job and still do in my personally used branch because they know me and won't freak out if they saw it. In Indiana the only time you're breaking the law is gov't protected buildings like courthouses, schools, post offices, city hall, and the separate building where people go to pay utility fees but I don't know what we refer to ours as since I live outside city limits and most places do that AT city hall. As a bonus fact about Indiana, it generally sucks, but its attitude towards firearms is why I won't move out of state. I haven't personally attended a small business where SOMEONE wasn't packing. The local vape store employees don't but the owners do at both. Hardware store literally is also a gun store in my town and the next town north. Hell even that one old fashioned barber that used to have a place in town carries. I mean, a barber. Im 25, graduated in 15/16, there were still rifles in the trucks at the school during deer season, and even year round you could occasionally find them from some students going coyote hunting before class.
Love this place, now if only we could legalize weed so my LEO's could stop having to enforce that(which they usually don't anyway) would be an awesome state.
Btw the national concealed carry law makes what he did perfectly legal
@@jamesbowling9293 Well, at least be glad they are so lenient with weed. Down here in backwards land Australia we're still living in the past, anything will land you in court.
@@jamesbowling9293 i live in oklahoma and thats how it is here and weed is legal medically. It’s pretty nice. I’m pretty sure at most you can be trespassed for carrying in a gun free zone unless its something like a school or government building, but in a mall most people just conceal and nobody bats an eye. Granted we have laws that allow teachers to carry if the school board allows it and most government buildings have armed security so they are still protected.
@@matthewroman8329 i’m pretty sure when those signs are on private businesses the most they can do is trespass you anyway. Now public buildings like schools and government facilities are different but at least in my state even they are fairly well protected.

It actually wasn’t “illegal” to carry in the mall there. It was against a rule made by the property owners. Rules aren’t laws. The only thing they can do is ask you to leave, and if you don’t, then you are trespassing. But Eli wasn’t doing anything illegal by concealed carrying his Glock, he was just breaking a dumbass rule. And by doing so, he saved countless lives. 💯
That was one thing I learned taking a gun course in MS, as a new gun owner, having grown up in Cook County, IL (HOME OF CHICAGO, I lived in its ultra-white and upper middle class southwest neighborhood), so still a gun newb as it were. SO what they teach you in MS, WORDING matters and the sign you put in your door has to have EXACT wording, if one of it is off, then their wishes for a gun-free store are nullified. MAN, less than a month into living in MS, I remember getting my oil changed at Walmart since they do the whole kit for $65 (filters too), waiting in the waiting room, and a guy just had a gun strapped to his hip, and just blew me away, and I was like; OH RIGHT, not in Illinois anymore.
The 2nd amendment is more important than a shitty rule made to feel people safe
This is exactly what I came to say. Laws > rules. Especially dumbass laws like gun free zones, glad Indiana made CC legal without a permit.
That's how it is here in AZ. The only private establishments that are legally enforceable gun free zones are places that sell liquor for consumption in the establishment and have to follow VERY specific rules on how to post it. And if they don't follow those rules their "gun free zone" is null and void explicitly by the letter of the law. Most places of these places don't actually follow the law so there aren't really any legal gun free zones here.
@TDATA yeah, I’ve lived all over the country being a military brat and I just moved to Colorado a year ago from St.Louis MO and I love it. A while ago I saw an old lady with a walker that had a .357 on her hip, and you can’t go to Walmart without seeing at least 5 or 6 people open carrying
Honestly I just think this is the textbook definition of “poetic justice.” If there is such a thing, I’ve never seen a better example. Besides that point, a young man all of 22 years old, seemingly no professional training, just what he taught himself and practiced of his own accord. The man hit 80% of his shots at 40 yards under stress, meanwhile we’re now being shown the Uvalde video where a literal battalion worth of police officers with every piece of gear one could want wouldn’t make entry.
His grandfather taught him how to shoot.

I live in Greenwood and can still recall that day. I was working for a new pizza place that opened up called Lou Malnati's on SR 135 making deliveries. I was out driving when suddenly streets were being filled with police cars from all over the county and blacked out FBI cars. I didn't know what was going on until I got back to the store and was told there was a shooting at the mall. I was worried because my mom lives a block from the mall so I texted her saying to lock the doors and have her gun ready. Thankfully as we all found out later the shooter never left the mall. And this was only the first shooting, a few months later or so there was a dispute between some people and someone shot outside the food court.
Also here to point out, at least in Indiana, posted “gun free zone” signs on businesses are not law. And the newly adopted Constitutional Carry law allowed Eli to carry his firearm without asking permission from the state to exercise his rights. Carry, train, repeat. Exactly what this young man did. He should never have to pay another bar tab for life!

Yah I believe that’s a federal law. Only government run places(i.e. places that the government has ensured the protection of themselves)is it not allowed to have a gun. Hospitals are a weird caveat to that law. But you don’t really hear about people shooting ip hospitals. In America anyway.
The fact that Indiana just got Constitutional Carry, and a hero immediately uses it to stop a shit-head wannabe cold in his tracks is magical to me. I remember seeing an article just recently about it (I don't live in Indiana, but I live in a state that borders it), and it claimed that it would "make officers' jobs more difficult." How exactly? If an armed man is entangled in such a situation it's probably going to be over before the police arrive, they can't be everywhere, it takes to time to assess the situation. The only scenario I can imagine when this is making police life more difficult is if there is an active shootout between the good and the bad guy when the police arrive but at the same time, I think people carrying have 1 mag, MAAAYBE a spare one so they're gonna be dry by the time the police arrive or end the fucker.

The mall could ask him to leave if they found out and then get him for trespassing if he refused to cooperate, but he did not break any laws by having his firearm on him.
Same here in fl, we don’t have constitutional carry yet but “gun free zone” signs are not valid and you don’t break the law if you carry in them, only if it’s in a school zone or government building can you not carry.
excuse me, um sir, you shouldn't have that handgun in ... oh, well, thanks for dealing with rifle guy, but i'm afraid you're still going to have to leave. The part where you said “they dont give a fuck where its legal to have a gun” basically ends the entire argument of anti gun laws. Im from South Africa and if they were to make guns illegal here it would be total chaos. The people committing the crimes aren’t using legal guns. Then our government decides to make the gun laws stricter, making it 10x more annoying to legally own a firearm. That’s been my argument this whole time.
I disagree. It's a really poor argument that assumes if a law isn't 100% effective then somehow it's supposed to be a useless law, which is completely false. Like Paul Harrel said, if you are expecting a perfect solution (to reduce gun violence), then you are part of the problem.
It's a really hard issue to solve in America because of their culture of guns being a right, not a privilage, as well as a shitty political system which causes a lot of the population not trusting their government (rightfully so). And the whole conversation around the topic is just full of shit, anti-gun people having no idea what they are talking about, pro-gun people expecting a perfect solution that doesnt exists and everyone just name calling each other and generally having zero ability to have a civil, constructive discussions to actually find a solution.

Read an article earlier that said it was done within 15 seconds, chief mixed up reports in the press conference. So Eli is even more of a badass than previously reported. Thank you for amplifying this story.
The dude's obviously a hero but it annoys me how, instead of celebrating his actions and his saving of lives, people make it political and criticize him because he used a gun to do so, it just shows the bad direction this country is going in. This guy should be receiving an award or at least a commendation from his local PD for his bravery. That's what they used to do and would've done if this was maybe 10 or 20 years ago, now they're afraid to reward the real everyday heroes of any community because they're afraid of "backlash" and social media politicizing it and accusing the authority of taking a political side, even tho there's nothing inherently political about what he did! People like this guy should be who everyone looks up to in a community, someone who does a brave selfless act, not out of touch, delusional celebrities who aren't a good role model for anyone, and yet people like this, in a week's time, won't even be mentioned anymore by media, meanwhile absolute degenerates (like the shooter) will continue receiving almost daily coverage for many weeks or months to come, trash celebs and politicians remain celebrated in our society while real heroes like this receive their pat on the back and then are forgotten, it's why ignorance and immorality are winning rn.
About making it political, it feels oddly like when some US politicans used the 2022 Copenhagen Mall Shooting to show that with a gun control, people will still get hurt. Im amazed how Eli was about to hit 8 out of 10 on a moving target. I barely can hit a stationary target at 15 meters with a pistol :/
But what I think most politicans are failing to see isnt what the gun law is or are. It is the checks to stop who ever that gonna go out and shoot people. I think I going of topic and going too much political. But yes, someone like Eli that is able to stand up and end the threat should be awarded instead of getting criticized. If I had been nearby, then I would personally thank him
I've not seen a single thing by anyone criticizing his actions. Everyone unequivocally believes he's a hero, and he is. Stop lying about some opposition you've made up in your schizophrenia-addled mind.
It's almost as if the media is trying to turn the would be mass shooter into a victim. What is wrong with them?
I mean the local police chief did praise his actions, it's Indiana not New York lol.

the same people are the ones still calling kyle rittenhouse a murderer for defending himself and ignoring all the good things he did before his life got in danger causing himself to have to put down 2 convicted felons, and injurying a 3rd convicted felon. honestly, lots of young boys and girls can sleep safer knowing that one of the 3 people he shot was a 5th time convicted child rapist who shouldnt even have been out of prison considering his young age at the night of the shooting that ended his life. because that pedophile shouldnt have ever been released from prison in the first place.

If bad people choose to do bad things, they will no matter what they use to do it with. It is up to trained people with good moral compasses to counter it. We all want a better world, but taking guns away from good people and expecting that the other side will respect the laws is rediclous. Do not disarm those that carry for the right to protection and who are pro-life. Instead, incurrage additional gun safety and training. upgrade the training. This man is a hero and should not be prosicuted for knowing the danger and accepting the risk of carrying a concealed weapon into a mall. He knew the risk, but he still chose to reveal it and save lives. We need more people like that in the world. The law should favour and protect these people that have the training.
