Rick beato is mad and jea-lous and a conartist he even said himself he can't write songs he can't create. But the labels tells him to tell that he does. Many people think there are incredibly well written songs today...

I have tried to find new music that moves me like Punk Floyd, Led Zepplin, Rush, etc. If it is out there, I can't find it or don't know where to look for it. Maybe you can start highlighting some to make it more accessible.

I’m 64 and a fan of the Great American Songbook. But I liked the Jack Harlow lyric that Rick hated. I liked the multi-syllable rhyming; I liked the way that the rhyming emphasised the play on the word “baby”; I liked the play on the word “vanilla”; I liked the play on the word “whip”; I liked the play on the phrase “tie me down”.
What Mr. Beato doesn't get, is that people get to CHOOSE what they like and listen to more than ever now.... he just doesn't like the result: Which is people listening to genres he is not as interested in.
Everything Rick Beato said was valid because he was talking about music in the charts. I am unfamiliar with all the lyrics you cite and I find them all sub-par. Does music suck nowadays? Rick didn't argue that - he argued that modern lyrics tend to be poor. Technically, the music may be as good as it has ever been. I happen to think that modern music is in a rut which has been made by streaming services and A&R staff. Huge populations are being fed monotony based on what was recently successful in the charts. Yes, you can go and hunt out innovative bands yourself but wasn't it better in the past when television programmes curated the music for their viewers? I think so. It imposed a form of quality control.

Music should always be listened to with an open mind. But it seems some of us are destined to become like our grand parents. One day you might be talking about the young whipper snappers when you are his age. If you look at the Beatles when they first came out. All the adults were shocked at their hair. Yet The Beatles were wearing suits , and the " mop tops" hair was shorter than yours is now. Every generation does it. I wish they wouldn't. No harm, no foul. But, I get your point. PEACE.

Honestly though I'd go further and say songs like "Smoking in the Boys Room" aren't "bad", they just serves a different purpose. Not everything needs to be a grand artistic statement, sometimes things can just be for fun or a joke. Even composers like Mozart knew this. Also most people look at music as entertainment. And just like putting on a movie or a show, sometimes you put on something "deep" and "artistic"...but other times you just put on something simple and silly to have fun or just not have to think much for a bit...and that's fine. Some songs are just "party songs"...and that's fine. Also I feel like in a lot of ways putting down other music is against the spirt of rock. To me, "rock" is about playing loud, playing proud, and not letting "the man" tell you how to rock. The problem is the rockers got old, and now ARE "the man" telling kids "how to rock". I think that's lame, and I say rock on. If I want my music heard, then I have to let other people's music have that chance too.
I will be honest, and this is just me, but I just don't like rock or the culture behind it. So, I am very biased here. I appreciate your thoughts and feedback :)
