  • The Airbnb market has tanked in recent years because of market saturation, rising interest rates, and increasing hidden fees. Travelers are looking back into the hotel industry, but are more attracted to boutique hotels than ever before. Here's what you need to know about starting an Airbnb boutique hotel.

What do you think - are boutique hotels the new Airbnb?

I'm done with Airbnb! They used to be a bargain now they are almost as expensive as hotels, in some cases even more $$$. By the time I added all the fees and taxes, it was not a deal anymore, plus I have to take the trash out and clean the place. Also, I have to deal with check-in drama - either have to meet the owner at a certain time or try to follow instructions on how to get the keys myself. None of this applies to hotels - they have a receptionist ready to help around the clock, they can offer another room if you do not like the one you got, no cleaning, no surprise. Some hotels offer free breakfast! Good luck Airbnb, your inability to control the crazy demands that the owner asks will eventually kill your business.

I NEVER liked RB&B…. Places ive stayed seem to buy the cheapest uncomfortable mattress. No flat sheet below comforter.
    Ragged towels.
Some shower curtain with mold on them ..
Some glass shower doors with mildew.
Corners of shower interior tile with mold.
    Leaking fridge..
    YUCK!
in morrocco we rented entire house. The owners never slept, they slept in the pantry… da fuk?!

Comparing an ordinary forgettable Airbnb and boutique hotel is comparing oranges to apples. Maybe comparing it to top creative STRs would be a little more fair.

Creative STRs are the exception to the rule. Most STR owners don't do anything creative with their assets and don't offer anything exceptional

I’m happy you’ve gotten paid from boutique hotels to promote them BUT I LIKE AIRBNB AND THAT WONT CHANGE. WTF? I look for AirBnBs whenever and wherever I travel and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Please don’t think you can influence people into foregoing AirBnB. AirBnB is a GREAT way to be accommodated. Your video clip is an obvious, shameful promotion of boutique hotels because AirBnB has taken a serious bite out of hotels’ business. Boo to you for this shameful plug - paid for by the hotel industry.

This is hilarious 😂 boutique hotels don’t operate like that and no one paid me to make this video. I’m just following the trends - investing in airbnbs doesn’t make nearly as much sense today as buying a boutique hotel.
