As usual, awesome advice. I enjoy larger gauge cigars quite a bit, and I still prefer a single torch. A single torch allows me to make razor-sharp touch-ups if need be, and I have no issues with toasting and lighting.
I have a nice soft flame, but my torch is a quad. My 40th is in 1 month, though, so hopefully a nice single flame will be with the neck tie and socks I'm sure to get 😂
@@robertcarrozzo5877 much appreciation! My anniversary is a week before and taking my first cruise a week later. Reeeeeeally contemplating getting an Opus X.
@holtscigars thanks so much! Definitely been checking regs on what I can take and bring home. Know anything to look for around San Juan or Puerto Plata???
There's no shortage of cigar shops and lounges in San Juan! You can swing through a few and get a look see for anything unique or uncommon to bring home
I have a few lighters including a quad-torch that I really like. However, my preference is the single flame. I like how you get pinpoint accuracy with it, and the risk of singeing the wrapper is minimal.
I have a nice 3 jet lighter that was pretty expensive, I prefer my 1 jet lighter that came in my Drew Estate freestyle live kit. It’s so much easier to control. My 2nd favorite lighter is a single jet that turns into a soft yellow. It was a cheap generic lighter that won’t last me long. I wish I could find a nice single flame with soft yellow flame that won’t cost me a hundred dollars. If any brand comes out with one watch out.
The best ones are the ones that Holts throws in as a freebie deal when you buy certain boxes of cigars! I still have a double torch Visol from over a year ago that I got from Holts and it is my daily use lighter! This particular one is slightly tilted so the two flames meet into one!
I can only speak for myself, but I’m sure many would concur with me that you always dispense the best advice regarding every aspect of Cigars. For this, let me extend a Hardy Thank you followed by a Gracious Bow, on behalf of all my fellow Cigar lovers… You Rule, Sherlock!!!
Having a Patoro P Demie while came across this. Can you show us a way you toast yours? Do you turn the cigar like some say or do you move the lighter around?
I have heard that lighting a match is better and that it gives a slower burn when you light a cigar and does not accelerate the aroma. So, is that true?
Once a cigar is lit, it will burn at the same rate regardless of what you use to light it as long as it's properly humidified and toasted. Matches are a great tool to use for cigars but butane torches are easier to use if you're outside or to touch up your burn. It is possible to over toast a cigar with a torch lighter which you want to avoid.
I am retiring soon, and want to get back into smoking an occasional cigar. Is my old Zippo lighter good enough to get by until I can afford a proper cigar lighter? Serious question.
You can try it and see if it works for you, but we don't recommend using Zippos for premium cigars because the scent of lighter fluid can impart itself onto a cigar. Zippo sells butane inserts which are great, or there are affordable butane torch options.
I started smoking 3 a day ( been smoking about 8 months.) and my mouth get a little aggravated. Is there something to toughin it up or do i need to cut back on numbers and strength?
I just dont understand people with trying to light their cigar quick. The best moment of smoking a cigar is going through the whole ritual of lighting a cigar and take ur time with it

I like single and flat for my Robustos. Defi Extreme and Slim 7 work great, but if the ring is larger I'll use a Monaco triple

💯
I have a single, double, and quad for different cigars. The single works great for touch ups on all cigars to give you an extremely precise edge.
👏👏

I smoke mostly Robusto and Toro sizes so I'm glad I went with a double flame lighter (I actually picked it because it was rose gold 💀)

👊
I've got 4 or 5 torch lighters from one to 4 flames even got a tea pot lighter that I absolutely love
I have a few torches but usually a single torch
I have a variety of lighters. Many have been gifts. Will try & use a different one each time just to keep them in use.
Thank you for your information
6x70 quad for me
Thanks for the another great tip!
I use a triple flame but I turn the flame down to under 1/2 inch...
Awesome advice as usual Anthony, your videos are always top notch. Smoke well my friend.
Much appreciated, thanks for watching 👊
Single flame is great for touching up an uneven burn. Also uses less butane so its great to travel with.
💯
I smoke 52’s and 60’s and rock the quad for both.
If in a weather situation like wind I like the single torch preferably.

Matches and a waxed hemp wick. Many times just some matches but, I get it about the torches.

Look up our recently posted short "How to toast a cigar 🔥🔥🔥"
Or just get a wider flame footprint out of the lighter for larger cigars. That's an option too.
I smoke hasselhoff rattlebacks, i go for the hellainfernus septuple burner, with optional bottle opener and cattle prod.
Single is best. Maybe not for the fastest start-up, but perfect for any touch-ups
I like the 7x70 and 8x80 cigars.

We have to visit your shop sometime ty.
Great information 👍🏽
I like a double torch to light and a single torch to correct
I use a zippo with a 2 torch butane insert.
👏👏👏
Thought I was a torch guy until I bought a nice quality soft flame, now my torches collect dust.
Which soft flame lighter do you suggest?
Same thing happened to me when I found sulfur free matches.

XIKAR Meridian, S.T. Dupont Defi are great choices. Cedar Spills are a great cost effective option as well.

@@holtscigars Thanks! I will take your advice 👌
Anytime!
I just prefer the regular Zippos old school
Got the Xikar Xidris thanks to ur recommendation, amazing torch lighter
What are your top single 🔥 torches?
Xikar Xidris is up there! Great quality and super reliable. Next step up would be the ST Dupont Defi Extreme 🔥
What should I use if I only smoke cigarillos?
A single jet lighter would be perfect for you 👊
What if I smoke 90s?
double, triple, or quad flame lighter would be best!
Awesome
Don't forget the Fuego!
I started smoking 3 a day ( been smoking about 8 months.) and my mouth get a little aggravated. Is there something to toughin it up or do i need to cut back on numbers and strength?
I’d try dialing back to 2 a day & see how that goes. Keep it simple 😉
Let's get this man on the rogan podcast
Fire is fire. These are trivial details if you know how to light
I just dont understand people with trying to light their cigar quick. The best moment of smoking a cigar is going through the whole ritual of lighting a cigar and take ur time with it
Agreed!
Oh thank god. I was thinking i was being a noob for liking corona gorda 😅
If it lights...I can smoke it.
Shit so Luke Skywalker lightsaber isn’t the way to light up a cigar?
If you have one, then absolutely it is
