The Athosian dude's name is Halling, the actor Christopher Heyerdahl is portraying the Wraith here and he's in a lot of stuff and multiple roles in the Stargate verse.
Ahh, Christopher Hyerdahl. He's basically Stargate royalty at this point, and an outstanding actor. When he turned up in The Last Of Us I punched the air in excitement haha
I wonder if the gate won't be able to recognize the jumper if they cloak first and THEN go through. From a tactical view point it's what I would do. Cloak first and then go through the gate; that way no one on the other side would even know anything came through right? what if the gate needs to be able to scan an object before it can go through. Radio and video signals go through just fine, yes, but they also aren't physical matter. What if the cloaking field makes it so the jumper can't go through a stargate unless it's visible?
I thought I remember them saying that if it's cloaked, it's all seen as one thing or something, so they would basically be merged with the ship if they cloaked first?
@@Heldemon Huh..I don't recall that. do you remember which episode they said it in? It might have more answers. I just assumed that the cloaking technology messes with the vortex' ability to identify individuals; which is kind of what you just said so, never mind. lol But still, if you remember which episode it might help. Wait... was it the ending of season 8 episode where they go back 5000 years to get the ZPM from Ra??
@@patrickcromwell7554 Hmm, I may just be remembering a theory fans have speculated after googling a bit. One of those threads someone claims the ancient writing on the jumper says not to cloak when going through the gate, but that it's never explained why.
I always assumed the cloak just doesn't work when it's in two(ish) pieces. Anyway people would still see the ripple in the event horizon as something massive came through, so the Wraith (or the Genin for that matter) could probably work it out quickly enough
@@Fawkes42 I don't think so, honestly. The ripple effect (I believe) is for us, the audience. Once it's cloaked it's invisible completely. The only way to see it is to put something in contact with it. Also someone would have to be looking at the event horizon of the gate at THAT exact moment. And since the (water) is always constantly moving and rippling anyway.....no one would know the difference. The jumper comes through so fast that even when you SEE it, the ripple isn't even a full second long in duration.
Hey, I don’t know if this is the place to ask, but will you be continuing Stargirl at any point? I just finished a rewatch and love to watch reactions, but I noticed you stopped after season 2. In my opinion season 3 is the best, so you’re missing out if you don’t continue
@@AfterShowReactions Damn straight, they're on the to-do list and will be coming out on time. For more information on what's coming next you can check out the schedule on our site. I tend to keep it updated weekly and well in advance. www.aftershowreactions.com/schedule

One of my favorite episodes
One of my favorite Atlantis episodes. Christopher Heyerdahl is terrific. He was one of the Volturi in Twilight New Moon
such a great episode

I have to say, I like the leather jacket they introduced for this episode as a uniform upgrade.

I've finished the show on Patreon, 2x01 will come to TH-cam on the 13th of September. I'm sure Tony will have them edited on time as always.
