First time i've heard Converge, i was only 13-14 years old and they just released AWLWLB, "Aimless Arrow" being my introduction to them and i was instantly moved. When i heard "I'm that aimless arrow! Lost from my very start: violence without purpose, born of broken hearts." i knew right then and there this group will stay with me forever. There are no words to describe what this band means to me. Risking to be too dramatic but i mean it: Thank you Converge, from the bottom of my hand-me-down heart! ✋️#stillbeating

I was about the same age and same experience except it was 1999 and it was the sone “The Saddest Day” from Petitioning the Empty Sky.

i met Jake a few times, and one specific time in Memphis, TN maybe 2009ish they played Hi-Tone, with Death Before Dishonor (Boston) and Jake spoke with me about my sadness of living in the trenches of Memphis, and being a fan of theirs to help me cope with the reality of hell / life. He hugged me, signed my Decibel magazine when they got the cover issue, and blessed me with words of love.

Big ups and maximum respect to guest vocalist Jonah Jenkins, formerly of Only Living Witness, a band you should go listen to right the fuck now! This track is an amazing re-casting of his considerable vocal talent in a more metallic vein than his earlier band and they really nailed this. Coffin worlds with words.

His more recent band(, and when i say recent i mean like 15 years ago ) raw radar war. Pretty awesome. Much different than only living witness. He is a good dude. He booked my band a couple times and was super supportive of the newer metal bands in boston that were coming up ag the time

His name is Jonah Jenkins. He was the vocalist of a 90's Boston-area hardcore/post-hardcore/alt-metal band called Only Living Witness. They were incomparable and you should listen to them now.
