Love this show so much! The different features keep getting better and better and the knowledge I feel like you can gain is awesome. I also love that the features may not always be a genre that a photographer works within but can easily spark a passion to giving it a shot anyhow for all the fun that seems to be involved. Now I want to shoot weddings, take pictures of birds, throw bags off cliffs and develop my own film, all whilst having a definite knowledge of my camera's dynamic range to perfect each shot. Cheers!
Best channel for variety. I must have processed >1000 roles of black and white film in my day and never tried colour processing due to the temperature problems. So all my slides were done via Kodak processing. I also took many roles of 2 and a quarter slide film via a Rolliflex twin lens reflex (I bought for $100). I have recently digitised these captures and the results are stunning. The best part is I can now fix many of the exposure problems in Lightroom. One problem with processing your own film was getting it on the spooler and winding it all the way to the end as it would sometimes get jammed. However, once you finished the whole process you felt like you climbed a mountain, it was so fulfilling. Great job guys keep up the good work.
The Best Photography channel on TH-cam by a country mile, another fantastic show, keep it up and you'll be breaking all records, the information just keeps coming thick and fast, and what a place to be doing it in, just fabulous, look forward to the next one, regards.
Glad you like it Grant. Since you posted that you were getting one I thought about it and realised it’s probably my most USED lens. I think it’s terrific. You’re so right the prices are rising, or at least they are here in the UK.
Lynne Kennedy is quite simply the best. She's the loveliest lady in the world and she creates magic. She made our wedding magical and the pictures still bring a tear to my eye.
Never heard a suggestion that videos should be less than 10 mins. Research shows the average TH-cam video is watched for 4 minutes. We get an average of over 30 minutes so are obviously doing something right.
The tips for bird photography are priceless - really good for photographers with limited mobility. I'm one who came up through the film era and to be honest, was pretty happy to close down my organisation's last darkroom and farewell the associated toxic chemicals. For anyone looking to develop their own, I'd definitely advise donning gloves and safety glasses in a well-ventilated area. As others have said too, best for the environment to use a waste management facility to dispose of the toxic chemical.
Hi Al. Thanks for your comments. All our chemicals are reused. The only thing we poured away was the wash water which is fine to put into the waste system. Glad you found the bird photography tips useful. We hope you can put them into practice and get your own shots. Many thanks.
Lynne is SO AMAZING! Such a talented photographer, and so fun to spend time with! Working with her was a highlight of our honeymoon (and her photos are our favorite souvenirs)
I agree with the previous comment. This is the best Photography Channel on TH-cam. The presenters are excellent and the features are really interesting and explained in an easily understood and sometimes humerous way. This month's subjects were particularly interesting including how easy it was to train the Robin to get that great photo. I've downloaded the instructions for testing the Dynamic Range of my camera and I'll be doing that at the weekend. The article on Wedding Photography was really good showing a different take on shooting weddings and elopements in the rather challenging conditions that we see in Scotland's outdoors. I remember the film development days as a science technician having to develop films in the dark room for teaching staff. I remember it being rather smelly so I for one am glad for the digital era. Please keep up the great work and I look forward to the next issue.
Let me tell you guys that your monthly shows are among the best to be found in the internet, not just are they truly educational, with so many things to be learnt from your expertise, but i also find very amusing and sometimes even funny how well you get along as a team, congratulations.
I have always disliked wedding photography until today. The beauty, the intimacy, and the uniqueness of Lynne Kennedy's photos actually made me think for the first time that I might actually enjoy it. Her photographs are special, but I never would have seen them, as I never watch anything about wedding photography. I can't believe this turned out to be my favorite part of the show!
Many thanks for producing these programmes they have been informative, entertaining and most of all giving me inspiration during lockdown to go out and take photos
Thanks for the memories!!! At 16 yrs old I had my own darkroom. In 1972 with no internet I had to learn from Kodak publications. At 18 I went to work for a commercial photolab doing chemical mix and QC. I worked in the 35mm processing darkroom also. Now after 25 yrs without my darkroom, I have discovered 12 rolls of exposed film in a box from the 1990's. Just yesterday I decided I wanted to process them myself and today I discovered this show!! It must be karma!!! Thanks again. Lenny Wells/Naturally Louisiana
Another superb episode of what is by far the best photography show on the 'net. I particularly liked the informative piece on Dynamic Range, so thanks for that guys.
Love your program. This month's segment on Developing Film really brought back memories. I used to stay up all night developing rolls, and printing my images. My wife thought I was nuts, but she liked my prints. Thank you for a super show!
wonderful great to see you all back i loved the show thank you all so much see you all next this is Trevor in Sussex on lockdown love to you for making life great
Great job on your monthly videos and happy to see the program is shifting back to more outdoor content. Scotland was on my list for travel in the near future; your TH-cam channel has increased my desire along with visiting Isle of Skye. Keep up the good work, you efforts will be rewarded.
Absolutely brilliant as usual. Thorough but easily accessible for all abilities. I speak as an experienced photographer (some 40 years) of both film and digital and an ex-tutor of a global online photography course. Well done all!
The intro to bag feature - most factually accurate yet. Your 'handbag' looks ideal for someone starting out, and ties in nicely with the quote. So much in photography is taking the time to get to the scene and having the eye for the scene. I'm sure all of you could take better pictures with a disposable camera than I could manage with a multi thousand pound camera/lens setup
In fact would be fun to have a shootout between the experts with that manual SLR and a 50mm lens and maybe a tripid, to demonstrate just how good a photo you can get with basic kit
Don't use a squeegie! You risk making a long scratch over all your negs! Wet your fingers in Demi water and use that to whipe of your negatives. Great show, and i love the attention to Even analog! Witch is what i love!
I adore this channel, both as a keen amature photographer and having visited Skye myself several years ago too. The channel is exceptionally well presented, professional yet friendly, informative and diverse in subject. Theres even a hint of glamour for us male viewers, thanks to the lovely of Ruth of course. By far the best photography show around, without a doubt. Thanks guys 😉
Thanks for a great episode - best so far, I think. Thanks especially for the piece on calculating a camera's dynamic range, and for the grey card/instructions download - a really clear explanation.
I think your monthly (and mid month) episodes are great! Really enjoy the various topics and advice. This one makes me want to setup my black and white darkroom again!
Great and informative show can not wait to see what the next show brings as far as swag I would like to see t-shirts hats and coffee mug. Thanks for tons of great information.
Going from strength to strength, always great features and lovely presentation. Why does Harry love throwing things 😉. Look forward to your next installment. Take care guys.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful Isle of Skye as well as this fantastic show. How I so miss this Misty Isle. I've been coming up to Camus More for the past 15 years, up to 3 times a year & this is the 1st time I'll not be there... And I was supposed to be getting married there on the 20th of June too. With the wedding feature, it really was the perfect show.
I just discovered this show today and have been binge watching multiple episodes! Very well presented and great content, thanks for making it available.
I have recently been introduced to this series and i think its the best photography programe I have seen. I look forward every month to see the next one. Especially the last few months.
I love the bantor between all of you! A good photograph can stir such emotions. When you showed the phots that you developed it took me back to when the exposure was made. The time spent waiting for the perfect light. The care taken to get the correct exposure and my love for grand vistas at sunset or sunrise, and the appropriate music on the reveal, caused me to have a small tear in the corner of my eye. I truly appreciate the effort and the scene. Thank-you for putting together such meaningful and informative shows.
Waw thé vidéo about the bags. Beautiful crisp images and the sound is excellent. And the tips are top. Thank you And also the dynamic range excellent .
I taught colour printing and film development e6 & c41. Somehow I survived exposure to the the toxic chemistry. One must be careful. If they have a 6 month shelf life that is a vast improvement over what I had. I would like to see you print colour negative onto photo paper. The chemistry is similar to c41. This TH-cam channel is one of the best for its instructional value and watchability.
No mention that it’s or was illegal to dump the chemicals down the drain. Talking as an apprentice who processes 20 to 200 rolls and 10 to 100 sheets by hand a day for 10 years printing col and B/W setting up studios for people and room shots. Shooting pack shots to factory’s. 30 years as a wedding photographer. I am a dying breed. I embraced digital but now think it is no longer a professional job for most. It’s just twist the nob till it looks right. Every shot I have taken. Had to be right and I would no how it would finally print. Now you don’t need that knowledge
@@garygalt4146 The truth has spoken. But unless you go stratospheric on how much you will spend on your digital camera.... film still has the edge. Try blowing up a digital photo to 5' x 3' and see what happens.
Just watched your January to June shows over the course of today - brilliant and useful stuff, all in broadcast quality. Really fun to watch too. Congratulations on Photography Online!
Thank you for the most engaging episode yet!! Lynne Kennedy's photos are so unique and simply stunning (I usually hate wedding photos, but I love nature and landscape photos - so it makes the smoochers bearable). The film developing brought back stinky, but rewarding memories of working in the college darkroom. And, I have actually opened a bird portrait studio in my own yard, so I certainly appreciated the patience and rewards of that part of the episode as well. I've finally made quite good friends with a one-footed cardinal who has claimed the studio and surroundings. Looking forward to your next episode!
Come June and another great show. I have always had a problem in which bag to take with my equipment. I use two systems, digital and medium format film. Your programme on which bag to choose was very interesting, One bag two inserts. Great idea, I shall investigate. Keep up the good work.
Once again, another superb show. While knowing about most of the technical stuff e.g. dynamic range of the camera, I'd no idea how to measure it for myself. Always something new to learn or some way to refine what I already know. Look forward to next month's show..
I absolutely love Photography Online!!! When the new episode arrives I sit down with a snack, a soda, paper and pen to enjoy the content. Keep up the great work. Merchandise: I would be interested in shirts and jackets. Please remember some of us are not skinny models and need some larger sizes. Thank you for all the great information that you share with us.
Another excellent episode. I don't know how you guys keep up such awesome consistency and good informative content. Keep it up and I can't wait for the next episode. Cheers.

I was going to comment "man up Pete", but after seeing what she does - wow. Totally different wedding portfolio, 👏👏👏
Great show as always guys. Particularly liked the Robin shoot and the bag reviews.
