  • Testing the new cast V3 Bknuckle from Naoki Nakamura on my 180sx. Way less Ackerman angle then the OG version, car felt super different after and has hella lock. Also put on 30mm extended LCA, and new nismo powerbrace.
The car on throttle pushes you out so much, on throttle in the back corner before the straight it floats you out all the way towards the rumble strip before the meihan sign. Before I would have to purposely turn right to get it to float all the way out, now on throttle im like trying to stop it from going too far lol.
I also notice after the entry off throttle it extends the drift outwards even without the use of Ebrake. It feels way faster in drift you can tell by how much faster the car looks too.
Only weird part compared to other knuckles I had tried is that the steering doesn't feel as predictable as before. I talked to some people and trailing wheel scrub (which this knuckle has very little of) adds some stability to the steering feel. The steering feels kind of twitchy sometimes. But for Meihan this is defintiely the new meta considering how hard people are pushing these days.
Got the knuckles from Toshi at APGarage, they sell an entire kit to do this new setup so shout out to them for hooking it up and getting it set up properly.

How do you think the v3 knuckles will work outside of Meihan? Seems like the lack of trailing scrub will make the car rotate slow when you cant load it up super hard like on touge.

For shallower corner drifting I actually prefer something with more trailing wheel scrub. this one is better big entry stuff though I haven’t had the chance to properly test it on touge yet. For big entries like meihan or tandem comp the new setup is so much better becuase the car surges forward so aggressively even at full lock.
With that said I feel like I could adapt to both maybe just takes time since I’ve never driven anything that felt like this before.
