I was in japan last week and the first think i did when i was at my hotel, was to go to a seven eleven and bought a egg salad sandwich. It was really so good, soft and juice like you told us. Thank you for that ^^
As an Italian, I'm not surprised that there is very good Italian food in Japan. Italian food is all about the quality of the basic ingredients and from your videos it looks like all ingredients are top quality in Japan! 🤤
I watched a Netflix doc on pizza and the president of The True Neapolitan Pizza Association said Japan probably makes better pizza than what's available in Italy.
@@IDiggPattyMayonnaise Yeah, I don't agree with that. They were probably talking about a specific place maybe, butas someone who has been to Japan, you get a load of absolute shit in terms of pizzas
@sneer1010 Japanese pizzas are amazing. The issue is that there are 3 distinct styles of pizza in Japan. There’s the light Italian/Naples style, the heavy American/Chicago style, and then the uniquely Japanese style. Any restaurant will only do one of these styles, and as many foreigners don’t like the Japanese style, they often dismiss all pizzas in Japan not realizing they’ve only scratched the surface. Personally Japanese style is my favorite, but it is quite unique.
I’m going to Japan for two weeks this Friday and the tip about the Pokémon center cafe is super helpful thank you! I was so bummed I couldn’t get a reservation online.
While fruits in Japan are really delicious, you can get a lot of delicious fruits in South East Asian countries at $1-2 with almost the same deliciousness.
afaik those really pretty fruits are basically only meant as gifts. supposedly they taste really good but its more about getting someone a dozen of the most perfect strawberries they could find in a whole field
We call it 'Depa-Chika' Depa for department store, Chika for underground. Whenever we're at a department store, we have to go to their depa-chika because we can eat our way through just the free samples they hand out and get full. And they hand out quality stuff. Always free lunch, snack or dinner. This was more than 20 years ago when I still used to live there. I hope it still remains the same.
I love your show man you are definately one of the best stuards of introducing us food from around the world. Your honesty your demeanor your personaly. Just down to earth good person.
Didnt eat sushi or well done meat. I think he forces himself to eat some stuff. We went to a few places he recommended in and around Vancouver, they were not good...one was so gross
So when people are talking about having to get up early in the morning they're talking about THE Pokemon cafe. That one you totally do need to do that, the smaller ones don't though. :3
So nice to see you eating here in Japan again, Mike! Thanks for comming back and introducing all those beautiful Japanese food. I am a Japanese living in Japan, but your video always remainds me how nice to live in this country. ☺Because we, Japanese people, grew up with good strawberrys and oranges from the begining, many people do not know how lucky we are in food supply level. This is little sad thing. (Thanks to the farmers producing good fruit and veges, as well.)
Omg you make it look so good even though it's not what I would choose to eat. Oh and that strawberry! Holy mother. Apparently my mom's family is from Fukuoka, but I've never been to Japan.
I found the peach kit kat at a local Japanese grocery store near me. SOOOOO good. Definitely have to make a return visit to get some other food items from there.
I've heard some pretty extraordinary things about the fruit in Japan. That strawberry looked magnificent. I absolutely love strawberries! I'd likely spend too much on those.
That fruit looked so good! Mike, use the orange peal in your garbage disposal..it will make your whole home smell like oranges! I do the same with lemon peal.
I used to live in Okinawa and my family and I would go to a department store there that had a delicious bakery. One thing I crave to this day is this mayo cheese bun. It was like this huge bun that was split open on top an then baked with some i think it was mayo and little cheese cubes. I have no ideo what it is called, so i don't even know how to look it up. So good though!! Im hungry thinking about it.
You know exactly! A bun with dice of cheese is "cheese coupé"(🇯🇵Chiizu Kuppe) that we called it. And, if mayonnaise is added, it's "cheese mayo coupé"(🇯🇵Chiizu Mayo Kuppe). But, the name "coupé" is not so common, so people might call it "bun"(🇯🇵Pan)... Oh, we're back to square one.😁
@@elwood0753 I wish there were bakeries near me that made those, or even something like it. It's hard to even find any kind of Asian food that I don't have to drive over an hour to get. I live in "VERY white" Missouri. Diversity of food goes as far as Mexican.
Omg, Mikey…we are on vacation in Tokyo right now and staying 5 minutes from this HUGE department store 😃 SO MUCH GREAT DELICIOUS FOOD to choose from FOR SURE! Enjoy your stay as well 🤙🏼
Wait WAT?! An egg salad sando that is a fail...in Japan?! Truly a first, there! Next time I go to Japan, I have got to do the department store thing like this and see what I like and don't like....that orange looked INCREDIBLE.
It's only a good idea if you're busy and want a quick lunch. Department store food is usually overpriced and isn't hot enough, even in Japan. If you have time to spare, it's better to go to restaurants.
😄 love the way you said "baumkuchen-cake" that's actually kinda like saying proscuiotto ham. Baum kuchen stands for tree cake, because of the layers it has like the rings of a tree
An AMAZING video Mikey what would we do without you showing us all the amazing food around the world? Thank you for always being so fabulous.. I love your channels ❤️🥰💕
Omg same. It's so painful to see all these delicious looking things and go "I... could never eat that..." But, it's still fun to watch, especially while eating (gluten-free) food myself!
@@lbednaz Unfortunately not, because a lot of it also has soy sauce in it. Soy sauce contains wheat (don't ask me why, but it's listed directly in the ingredients), so we can't have that. There are gluten-free soy sauces that exist, but they aren't commonly used (you have to go someplace that specifically uses it to make the food).
Me at the sart of the video..." Is this a good idea?? I'm not hungry, but its late, so if I get hungry....nah, it'll be fine" Me at the end of the video "great, now I'm starving, and craving a mango sandwich....when I dont even like mango, and don't have whipped cream. UGH" 😅😬🥺🤣 Love your videos! I should have followed my rule of not watching unless I just ate, or am currently eating, though 😂
That orange looked absolutely incredible. That was the best looking orange I've ever seen in my life and I could only imagine how juicy and sweet that tasted. It was perfect. And I must have one lol
I was in japan last week and the first think i did when i was at my hotel, was to go to a seven eleven and bought a egg salad sandwich. It was really so good, soft and juice like you told us. Thank you for that ^^

Italian cuisine is so simple but absolutely it is quality of ingredients. Right tomatoes, cheese and eggs

I love how he eats a days worth of food before going to a reservation!
I can never get tired of japanese food,so delicious
Hope you’re doing great Mikey. Been too busy lately to watch your videos like I used to, but glad to see this vid pop up on my feed.
Japan has their fruit game dialed in!! The avocados, pears and strawberries are just righteous!!
While fruits in Japan are really delicious, you can get a lot of delicious fruits in South East Asian countries at $1-2 with almost the same deliciousness.

East Asia has the best fruit and India hands down.
Tokyo, and Japan in general, is on my bucket list of places to visit.
I watch NHK World Japan a lot. They need a show about department store food! Everything looks absolutely delicious. And that orange!🎉🎉🎉
It’s because they aren’t the norm. At all.

The pain watching him crease the Pokémon placemat down the middle 😱 That pokecafe looks so fun overall tho 🤩
And he called the pokémon a "character" lmao. Um, excuse me, sir? Lol.
It was the waygu rice bowl so close to the edge of the table giving me a heart attack lmao
He will regret.
Exactly. What's the point of saving it if it's going to be damaged?

Omg yessssss! Best videos on this channel! I love the grocery store/convenience store/gas station/vending machine videos 🫶🫶🫶
When I lived in Chicago, we could get specialty food at Marshall Fields. Really nice treat.
Japan is always over the top everything they touch. They way ahead of us

Didnt eat sushi or well done meat. I think he forces himself to eat some stuff. We went to a few places he recommended in and around Vancouver, they were not good...one was so gross
I guess it’s too easy but I expected Mike to be standing outside the Pokémon Cafe while pointing at it and saying “I choose you.”
"Cuz Pokemon, gotta EAT EM ALL" 😂 Perfect! Great video ❤
everything UHHHHHHH!!!!! MAZZZINGGGGGGGGGGG
I LOVE WHEN HE SAID THAT TOO!!! 😄😆
The single strawberry looks delicious.
So when people are talking about having to get up early in the morning they're talking about THE Pokemon cafe. That one you totally do need to do that, the smaller ones don't though. :3
These are my absolute favorite! I’m gonna have to watch it again when I make my buffalo wings later.
Love you mike; thank you for the peace you provide
Can’t believe he can eat that much food. Amazing
Thank you for eating! Makes me wanna eat too

The Poke Cafe is probabaly the best Part EVER... I want to try 1 of the Eevee or Pikachu Plates they have c:
I've never seen an orange with so little pith. That's unreal. I need to try that. 🤤👏👌
Tsym for making this video! I'm going to Japan next year and one of the main reasons I'm going is to try some of the fancy boutique fruit 🤤
The strawberry 🍓 and orange 🍊 are beautiful! 😀
Love these department store videos :)
Mike, you should find out when is mango 🥭 season in Taiwan so you can go and try all the different types of mangoes 🥭
Seeing Mike eat at Pokémon Cafe just makes me like… so jealous 😅
I as a German, find it quite good how hard you tried to say "Baumkuchen", which means "Tree Cake". :D❤
I love this guy me and my son used to watch him every night.
I just got my Sakuraco cherry blossom festival box, and it is AWESOME!!!
Sakura Co. and Tokyo Treat Box ads are my favorite sponsors! It's like having a mini episode within the main episode 🤤
Good for you. I fast forward past all the sponsors.
@@roan6125 ngl, I do too, but if it's a food subscription, I wanna see what's inside and what it tastes like
Those bento boxes are amazing!! 😋
Have a wonderful day, Mike ❣️
These treat boxes sound delicious!
I had to go out and get some sushi for dinner! Looks yummy
I think those massive prawns towards the end is what I'd be fillling up on with some rice ❤

I remember the days when Mikey didn't eat anything raw. Love seeing how much he's grown.
His food preferences have changes so much, it's been so interesting to see how he got into different foods over the years
