I got to know about this ETO and heard of top college like amet, but I'm very tensed that how can I go into those college what is their application form detail, secondary Should I join ETO or quit thought of joining it. I'm not confident that I will clear and get into top college which provide 100 % placement... as I'm financially not so strong to take risk by joining top college and end up without proper job....
You should pass HSC with PCM 60% and BE with 50%(many companies prefer above 60%) After that you have to give entrance exam(e.g TMISAT for tolani AMETSAT for AMET etc) along with interview to qualify for the course which will cost around 3-5 lakhs.Course duration is only 4 months and syllabus is vast.Companies come for campus placement and based on interview you will be selected.After joining as cadet/trainee ETO you will sail for 8 months(carry TAR book) in which you will work under chief ETO and get onboard experience (salary 300$-500$).After that you can appear for COC exam(pretty tough oral and written) after which you will become a licensed ETO(salary 3000-5000$ based on experience).Join merchant navy as ETO ONLY if you are really good in practical stuff and have good understanding of electrical and electronic devicesYour job as an ETO will be to maintain and repair electrical appliances onboard so practical knowledge is must.In most companies there is only 1 ETO onboard so there is huge responsibility.Merchant navy is a very rewarding career but it has its own pros and cons.

It depends on company to company and there ship availability and your performance it will take atleast 3 contracts in good manner to clear all your loan upto 6 lakh

I think you have to give oral exam only to renew COC if it was issued before 2015.

Depends on company if they have more ships then waiting period is less.For trainee 3-6 months minimum.
