Welcome to Oakwood, a long abandoned campground nestled in the forests of British Columbia. Explore the woods, caves, and a dilapidated lodge in search of your friends, while surviving the prehistoric horrors that now haunt the grounds.
Did anybody else notice that every 7 years, a group of people are "invited" to this campsite, exactly when the flora blooms, which might lure the dinos out?
and all of the other groups closed the gate... until Fooster
I wish it had been a little less subtle about that. Perhaps they could have suggested a reason like a sacrifice.
I honestly think the 7 people "Invited " are actually sacrifices so the town doesn't get ransacked by the beasts

To be fair, Michael Crichton’s original Jurassic Park novel is more of a sci-if/horror piece than the film portrayed. A lot of the descriptions of the dinosaurs and the deaths in the novel are absolutely terrifying, so this accurately portrays the terror of being in a place stalked by dinosaurs.

The Crichton's, Jurassic Park was a pretty scary read.... especially reading at night, I loved reading books like that at night

Jackson (Ray Arnold) the scene where Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler) goes to turn on the power and sees an arm of Ray Arnold reason they did not show his body is because there was a hurricane that hit Hawaii and destroy the set and if the hurricane had not hit Hawaii than they would have filmed Ray Arnold death.
I noped out when the raptor chased you through the grass and caught you at the second station...I actually yelped out loud. This game is a gem.
I like how you left the gate open for the "creatures" to go explore the rest of the world once they are done eating you. 😆

When the door opened in the kitchen area, you could barely see the tail of a raptor disappearing to the right. This game definitely immerses you in the environment and everything falling apart or bottle clinking puts you on edge. Ironically, there is a Jurassic Park horror survival game coming out for Nintendo Switch sometime this year too.

That's because they're trying to scare you and not rely on cheap jump scares like everything now a days. It is really sad what is called horror now a days.
Especially all the stupid ghost stuff. Yeah, another spooky ghost movie is what we need Hollywood 🙄 How about we go back to dinosaurs, creatures, and good ole monsters.

The graphics when the raptor attacks reminds me a lot of an old SNES Jurassic park game. You would basically just see a wide open mouth like that when they got you.

I really understand how you feel. The first Jurassic Park made me scared of rainy days for years! I got paranoid at every corner of the street about whether there would be a dinosaur jumping out of there. I always looked high up during the rain because I was scared of T-Rex that might walk by. The new Jurassic Parks never came close to that experience again; especially non-Spilberge movies (because all of them are trashes). But now I could feel the same tension when I watched the original movie of this game. Kudos to the dev!

The fact that your voice was echoing through the sewer as you talked was such a nice touch. It felt like I was watching somebody actually exploring the sewers. That's some top-tier editing! It earned you a subscriber!
Watching this in the all alone in a big house in complete darkness with a cat running around the house made this the most frighting experience i have had watching a horror game before but it was made equally as much fun with watching you play it Fooster. my Heart couldn't take it XD
I was not prepared for how good this game plus your worst fear would create such a great thing to watch.
This game looks the closes to a solid Dino Survival Horror experience, no guns just running from claws and teeth

Getting Jurassic Park kitchen vibes especially with the two raptors. This must of been terrifying to play was pretty scary to watch.
My only complaint about Oakwood is it's short length. but i enjoyed it thoroughly. it reminded me so accurately of the nightmares Jurassic Park gave me as a child and that's a very special kind of nostalgia. at least for me.

5:46 as someone who camps in Washington (not BC, I know), you just kinda pray that they won't come, lock away the food into a bear box or car, and just pray that they won't find you.
I saw Jurassic Park in theatres when it came out when I was around 3. Loke pretty much every other boy my age at the time, dinos and sharks were my thing, thought it was the coolest damn thing I'd ever seen. 30 years later, its still up there.
The part sneaking past the raptors and crawling through the vents, I've had literal nightmares like that thanks to jurassic park 😂 still one of my fave movies
To me this is kinda funny factoid. The totem pieces and the large one after the camper. They modeled after the torems located in Stanley park in Vancouver. So being familiar with British Columbia it's a nice touch of familiarity.

I love how the reverb and sound of your voice matches the environment, like in the vents your voice was more echoey which is more immersive
So I just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos. I think what really sets your content apart is that you add extra effects to your voice which match the environment in game, like at 26:50. It’s such a unique touch that really pulls the viewer in.
The problem is most national parks are "gun free zones". Which explains why people keep going missing in them.
Still in the middle of watching this and this is something as a kid I absolutely loved (Jurassic Park is one of my all-time favorite films followed by Lost World) but as an adult aware of WHAT is hunting you leaves me frozen in fear and when you ran through the tall grass and hid in the shed I actually bit my left index finger hard enough I almost broke the skin. This NEEDS to be a bigger horror subgenre. It's absolutely wild.

28:23 An annoying thing brought up by multiple older documentaries. Dromeosaurids were not perfect killers. In fact, they didn't even hunt in organized packs like is often seen in media. They were also glass cannons who were easily put out of commission by most anything larger than them. Velociraptors were also only 3.3 feet tall.
Kudos for putting reverb whenever you are inside a room or sewers, makes it more realistic and interactive! awesome!
I love the subtle reverb of his voice in the gym and bathrooms around 17:30, and then the vents at 18:30. Don't know if it was intentional or not, but that's production value

When I'd go stay with my uncle in Alaska the first gift he gave me was an redhawk 44 mag revolver and he taught me and told me to keep it on me when I left the cabin because of where he lived. And that scared me big time lol.
A horror game doesn't need great graphics to be good. A sometimes a simple story plot is better. This is a pretty neat game.
I have to admit I was scared after watching this! Now, my conclusion on this is that dinos are considered like deities, and in order to keep them away from the town, they must invite some people, so they can be eaten.
When he turned the light on like the little girl in Jurassic Park, I was screaming like Tim for her to turn it off.

Most people in america go camping at designated areas, which is crowded and boring imo but most dont bring protection regardless. Personally, I've seen bears around along with wild dogs, a mountain lion and other stuff in my area. I never go camping without firearms of some sort. Usually a large pistol to carry around and a shotgun for camp.
