    "The Unspoken Bond"
    Some things are better left unsaid. A comfortable silence whispered over the unspoken promise exchanged when your eyes first met. Together you share a grueling conviction. He rewards your dedication with a persistent plea for your companionship. If only he knew the feeling was mutual. On that dark, crisp morning you embark to fulfill his inherent purpose. Four earnest eyes scan the horizon with a concealed intensity when that Lone Duck interrupts the desolate sky. The crack of your gun unleashes a frantic hunger to retrieve his fallen prize. He returns, fully saturated and satisfied, with the fragrance of gunpowder generously lingering. Together you celebrate a promise kept.
    Your binding faith is one that most can’t comprehend. They neglect the depth of the instinctive understanding you have for each other. Like the exuberant validation you shared in the field with that first Lone Duck. It’s feelings like this that remind you they’re reserved for a select few. There’s no need to fill them with empty words. Some things are better left unsaid.

    I’ve seen in a bunch of your videos how your dogs retrieve and bring the bumpers back sharply to your left side. I’m struggling getting my dog to not make a lap around me as she returns to me. Any tips?

    How about doing this drill while another dog is running marks.

      Sure, when possible we definitely do that! Nothing more exciting and distracting than marks going off

    I find teaching and conditioning a silent auto sit is useful for walk ups in AKC hunt tests and jump shooting ducks. Dog is eagerly obedient because he thinks his obedience will trigger the winger: th-cam.com/video/J1cPpWXeFnc/w-d-xo.html
    One nice thing about this type of conditioning is the more exciting the environment, the more eager the dog is obediently heel and silently auto sit.

    Hey Bob, Do you find that high energy / high drive dogs will constantly need to revisit some of the basics?

    • @bornfree8073
      @bornfree8073 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mine does. It is crazy. I have been workin on calming him down a lot. And it has a helped a lot. Standing stone suggested it i think. My dog still shoots off like a bullet for bumpers and knows to run when i say hunt. Too calm him down, i make him sit everytime he gets too excited.

      We are constantly revisiting the heeling and I also added in prolonged sits where he will have to stay seated for a few minutes waiting for the release. This also has helped.

      You can (and SHOULD) start as early as possible, are leash corrections smart on a little puppy? Hell no, it'll start associating work/specifically the heel command with bad things

    Use a prong collar

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rarely use prong, nothing against it, just not on every dog
