When I first watched motorcycle racing bikes such as the Manx, G50s and 7R s were the backbone of Motorcycle Racing! nice to see so many have been restored and kept in running order.
we lived in Canterbury in the 60s my dad used to hang around with Derek Minter........i recall a picture of me age about 4 sitting on my dads manx..........i recall my father telling me Derek was called the king of brands hatch
@@malsmithson4312 Great that you've mentioned Derek Minter! I've got some fantastic memories of him racing Manx Nortons at Brands Hatch and he did win the 'King of Brands' race in the late 60's. Take a look at this video which shows Derek racing in the 1966 King of Brands though that year the race was won by the late great Bill Ivy who your Dad will likely also remember :- th-cam.com/video/ECMuQWc7lu0/w-d-xo.html . Also a book :- www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1859836011/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .RIP Derek and all of the other great racers I've watched over the years.
@@malsmithson4312 Also another 1960's video featuring Derek and this time with sound! Derek was the winner against the formidable talent of John Cooper and even Mike Hailwood who appears to have bike problems at the start :- th-cam.com/video/cyYkLaID12o/w-d-xo.html

Love that sound - it takes me back to all the race meetings I attended at Brands Hatch in the 1960's

I don't know much about classic bikes, but this one looks awesome, you can be very proud of rebuilding this beauty!
such a beautiful bike, a golden age for not just Brit bikes but cars too. Nothing sounds like a Brit bike.
Wow, I saw so many of these, 7rs , G50s Daytona 500s etc at Castle Combe in the late 1960s the smell of Castrol R.
To tick over like that this must be set up really well, looks very good, Enjoy!
That put a big smile on my face :)
Such a distinctive sound and beautiful bike.
A work of art, pure perfection.
Keep on riding her.
