  • We explored the remnants of French luxury in Kampot, Cambodia's Bokor national park. There was abandoned casinos, hotels, homes and even a church to discover. Abandoned building and ruins that tell a dark history of this small area of Cambodia. Come along with us as we brave the dilapidated structures in this urban exploration style video.

    That really was so much fun! That whole area is beautiful and sadly abandoned! It was creepy cool and so different. That was an unexpected neat exploration. So much to see! Cambodia is really cool! I can't wait to explore the temples! Thanks for taking one for the team guys! I know it's hot there and it can't be as much fun for you as it is for us. Just know, we really do appreciate you and all you are doing for us! I never dreamed it would be this amazing! Thank you guys! ❤

      We will never stop complaining about the heat here, but the experiences have been far beyond our imagination. Especially now looking back as we edit the footage. We can't believe this really happened. We are just so grateful and hope the experience feels real to everyone watching.

      Yeah it was! Made for a fun day though. The heat was rough, but we couldn't stop exploring.

    The heat is crazy, and humid, too hot, smart choice going up into the mountains. What beautiful scenery all around you, alwats love your inspiring perspectives and viewpoints! Finally getting sometime to catch up on some of your videos, i think about you two often. Between the barn, the farm, we are trying to clean up our cabin so we can turn it into a summer rental. Plus just working over 50 hrs a week too just to help pay the bills, doing way way too much to stay a float right now. Ok ok sorry for the side note! Seeing the world through your cameras is so cool, it's always like we are there with you. Your videos get more and more creative in how you put them together and mess your music choices with the experience and feelings. Detaild and emotions are something i enjoy capturing on film and you two do it the best! I will always look up to you and im so grateful to be able to call you friends! I really want to just jump right into those woods and get lost, but they are ao thick, i would be lost in seconds, plus all the wild life out there too. Wow, what a place there, incredible art inside, beautiful work! I always wonder in a few hundred years what will the people find that i left behind! Wow, i love all the history here, i really feel a strong connecting to the passed like im should be living back then or did! Its crazy how we as people can just walk away, neglect, forget about, turn a shoulder to building.... There's definitely water running in there, that's odd, yeah I wouldnt go in that one either lol! Great adventure, love exploring with you!

      That is a lot you got going on. Did you get another job or is the 50 hours from the barn and all that? Hope you can get some down time soon.
      We think about that too. 50 years from now is someone going to come across our rock collection or a Fort we built in the woods.

      @TheAdventureCloset the barn wasn't making enough profit for the family to survive on by itself so I had to take an engineering roll again, it's super fast pace and tiring, but I'm not letting it get the best of me like I used to do. We have people now at the barn to help us run the day to day so we don't have to be there full time, but Jess and Lily are there often.

    so, the sign in 52:05 ironically is an acknowledging/cursing phrase and it says, "please gather all the trash with you, the person who take care of the nature will live with happiness, and the person who don't will go back with danger."

      @TheAdventureCloset  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's pretty funny. Thanks for translating that. Good thing we didn't litter. Don't want any curses.

    WOW ! Blow my mind to see the destruction of hotels & garbage. Why haven't Cambodians kept the properties up to speed. Thank you guys for showing us Bokor Nat Park & Black Palace. Hey in the abandon church you said "hello creeper MC creeper" video 41:59 a gosh head showed up head down. Did you guys put it there to make the video scary.

      Cambodia is recovering from a lot of recent civil unrest and they're making a slow recovery. They're still very impoverished compared to neighboring countries too. Hopefully they will have the means to improve things here down the road.
      Haha! Yeah, Charlie added the little creeper to be funny. There really was a noise though, and that door did swing on its own earlier in the vid. It was spooky!

    Thanks for exploring the bokor mountain.. lots of place you can visit over there. During cambodia under French protectorate from 1863 to 1953. They built lots of building over mountain for cambodian king and queen come for relaxing and for them as well. Now they just leave as original site and they will renovate and set up for tourists later on when the economy is getting better in country.

    Charlie, did you go for another beard trim? Did you find anything that said how long these places have been abandoned? I'm guessing since the war but I wonder why. That was definitely not get in & cool off water before the falls, too bad the water fall was not there except the trickle. lol It was a spooky cool adventure.

    • @TheAdventureCloset
      @TheAdventureCloset  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No beard trim, but one is needed. I think the French were run out in the 40's or 50's. It was a while ago.

      @@TheAdventureCloset Still I can't help but wonder why the buildings were not repurposed & used. Maybe people think there is bad juju there? It was cool to see them all.

    Liz, peeping into a long, dark hallway in a possibly haunted building: “Something moved in here!” -Proceeds down the long, dank hallway. 😂 (I just rewatched “Dark Water,” the original (Japanese or Korean) film, and that huge building with the vinyl record and ghosts (🤣) was giving me the vibe of that movie!
    Also, that sign totally did say, “if you’re happy and you know it, die.” Charlie was right! And that waterfall was hilarious! Maybe it spouts out when it rains? 🤷‍♀️
    This was aMAZINGGGG, guys! Loved it!! ❤

      Pretty sad all that these people have been through. It's amazing Cambodia is still on its feet at all. What we haven't shown is all the many people with missing limbs and the lack of elderly people. There is a sadness in Cambodia for sure.
