I believe Misa's story is the saddest of all in the whole span of the series. She was madly in love with the only person that didn't actually like her, she was used time and again by him, she gave half of her already shortened life for that person but she still couldn't get him to love her. :(
She cut her life in half twice, however 2 Shinigami died for her, increasing her life span beyond what is normal. Yeah an her parents were murdered. However I disagree with you. Although Light was evil, I believe that he really did love her. He was just using her at first, but for the second half of the anime, I think that he truly fell for her.

Joaquin Pirotto I think this because Light told Misa that if she wrote down L's true name then he would love her forever. She couldn't remember it, so she did the eye deal with Ryuk. When Light found out about this, he said that she was an idiot for cutting her life, because he wants nothing more than to be with her in a new world. Also, before Light dies in the last episode he says: "Where's Misa...!?" "Where's Kiyomi...?" I think those 2 lines means that he misses Misa and loves her and that he regrets killing Kiyomi just to save himself. And it was really sadistic too. Light is evil, but he does have a lot of redeeming and good qualities, too. And I do think Light loved his father, too. He was hysterical in the last episode when he pretty much called his dad a fool, so I don't believe he meant what he said. That's my two cents. :)

Who's Kiyomi? If it's a character from the manga then it's beyond me, but in the anime it didn't seem like Light ever loved Misa. He was always saying stuff just to keep Misa in his pocket (and maybe even to keep up appearances).
Joaquin Pirotto Yeah, I'm just surprised that Light didn't try to stop his dad from making the eye deal. I think ultimately his dad would have said that he has made his decision and that he couldn't live with himself unless he did it. Kiyomi is the lady that Light dated in college and also was the spokesperson of Kira during the Near arc. She was the one that killed Mello by writing his name in the notebook after he kidnapped her. I had to look her name up too, because I had forgotten it.

Kennedy640 Oh, really? Well I do know that a lot of people don't like the last third of the show, but even though L is my favorite character, I like that it shifted to Near and Mello. The last third is my favorite part of the show. :)
what do you think about Mello? he put in some mad work in order for near to expose Kira but for the cost of his life also. He was a badass eating that chocolate bar with leather gloves haha

She has a tragic backstory AND a tragic story on the show. She knew light was using her but she didnt care because he avenged her parents deaths. And in the end, she couldn’t live in a world without light. To her, it was too dark.

It was even emotional in the last episode and then suddenly I connected that the last episode's ending was for-shadowed in the episodes before when Miss was released and light asked her to kill 😢😢
I feel very connected with this character. Yeah, Misa was the most happiest character in the anime, but the reality is that she was such a lonely and sad girl. The boy that she considered her true love, and her god, didn't love her in the entire anime. I hate when I see comments saying she's stupid or annoying.

Misa was a strong person to go through life as she did with a smile and her best attitude. She knew she was being used but loved Light regardless, even if he didn't return her feelings. She stayed strong, and that's why I respect her character. When I see comments saying that she is stupid and annoying, it makes me a bit sad. They just don't understand her. And she may not be as smart as Light or L but that doesn't mean she isn't smart at all (Besides L and Light are both geniuses anyways), so she is still of at the very LEAST average intelligence but she may be above as well.
I personally disagree with your statement. I feel that by her staying with Light even though she knew she was being used is a sign of emotional dependency, not strength. I am not trying to bash Misa, and I think her character adds greatly to Death Note. However, I don't feel she processes enough positive traits to be a respectable role model.
jpbgenesis Of course she was emotionally dependent on Light, given her past. I'm not talking about her staying with Light though. I was talking about how she watched her parents get murdered in front of her which is a pretty terrible thing to witness. What I'm saying is that she was able to still throw a smile on her face and keep moving despite her past. I do however agree with you on the fact that she is not the best role model based on her traits and actions. I still appreciate her character though. I didn't mean to sound disrespectful to you, I respect your opinion, I just wanted to clarify what I was talking about.

Misa has got to be my favourite death note character. She always stays as cheerful as she can in a world of darkness. All she wants is for Light to love her back and she is ignored. She has a sad story and I do feel sorry for her, almost cried at the end when she kills herself. :(
When does she kill herself? The show ends with her singing.

Misa is a great character...yes we all felt "sad" or "mad" when a new character popped into the show, but she is a very " layered" character...and whoever thinks Misa is stupid is a total idiot...she is very intellingent but not at the same level as Light and Ryuzaki! She is smarter than most of us...not a genius but very very smart! Most of female characters who are very smart don't show it that good and they don't seem smart, but MISA is definetly not one of them...

I've always been a fan of Misa. Gothic ladies are my poison lol, but really, she provides a lot of cheerfulness and comedy to an otherwise gritty and dark anime. Her loyalty to Light also very sweet even though the guy is a grade A asshole. Can't help, but love her.

I loved Misa. Misa Theme B is one of the most beautiful scores on the soundtrack. She must have wore coloured contact lenses.

almost sick. They are right, he is strong, because he could carry the
weight of light. More should not be an example to follow, each one must question the love
that encloses the actions of his confidant, or these in the end, could

theme a is so underrated
You know, I used to hate her and call her an insult to the anime, but I've actually taken a liking to her now. Honestly can you help but not sympathize with her a little? She has a pretty sad story but yet she still manages to stay cheerful all the time. If anything she brought a shed of light to a dark show, kinda like Matsuda did.I can't help but get a little sad reading all the comments insulting her...

I feel like everyone was selfish in this anime. L is my favorite but he used people and did everything to get answers. But it makes sense. Light didn't care about Misa even though she gave her everything to him. And misa,, didn't care about Rem. Rem died for her, but she never said anything about it. Rem protected her,, and Misa didn't really care.

@@shania9528 We worked together once briefly and awkwardly. She asked if I needed help closing, I told her I got it and we told each other good night. She is with someone else now and she's pretty happy. I've run into her with this person, and it hurt a lot but I've come to terms with my failures. I'm just glad she's alive, well and happy. She gave me every chance a girl could give and I squandered every one of them.
When I first watched death note when I was like 13 i found her to be the worst but rewatching it 10 years later I think she's one of my favourites. She deserved a lot better.

if L's instrument is the piano and light's is the guitar then misa is the bass. notice how all of misa's theme are mainly dominated by a solo guitar and is only accompanied by a bass

Actually she's my favorite character i like her hairstyle and she's not stupid as they all think and she's so funny. Some can hate me for this. but i just like her she's different unique. And i love the way she dress. It kind of fits Kira even though we could say Fake Kira. There must be some people who agrees with me. Why all the hate to Misa? To say the truth all the characters are great in this anime except for Near and Mell well atleast for me. They are too weird and childish.

The song just titled "Misa" at @4:57 sounds almost exactly like My Curse by Killswitch Engage. Would make sense because that was a popular song when the Death Note anime came out and the band fits Misa's aesthetic. Just thought it was an interesting connection.

Hello everyone especially those who are Misa-Misa fans, so I really like to share my awesome imagination involving our kawaii & sexy ditzy blonde bombshell that I think would bring smiles on all Death Note fans, ok here goes:
I have imagined that in the future like perhaps in 2019 (final year of the 2010s) or just early 2020s, Ohba & Obata will give us a great big surprise, a DN reboot, but only this time, no existence of death notes & is a kick-ass crime seinen(older audience) series titled : "New Note" which would mean our favorite characters are brought back to life!
In NN, Misa Amane is the successful & famous celebrity Misa-Misa just like her DN counterpart, except this time she's a beautiful & sexy pop diva, & gravure idol. When singing & dancing, Misa is described as the Japanese combination of Britney Spears & Ke$ha. She was born with a harmonious & beautiful singing voice that touches everyone's hearts & is a skilled dancer with moves that would make mostly males addicted, plus whenever Misa dances, everyone of both genders get their groove on. When modeling for many magazines, DVDs, ads,commercials, & photo books as a gravure idol, she has extreme taste in swimsuits & lingerie, just born with intense beauty & super sex appeal.
Now imagine the other changes/character development in Misa Amane in "New Note":
1. Still born on 🎄Christmas day🎄 except in 2000(yeah I'll just pretend that Ohba & Obata will debut the NN manga in 2 years).
2. Intelligence increased from 3/10 to 5/10 which is half.
3. Still obtains her medium-length hairstyle with a portion of pigtails & the back hair left down; however, Misa's pigtails are longer & at the same length as some of the hair that is left down, & the fun addition is that the bottom of Misa-Misa's back hair, tips of her pigtails & front bangs are highlighted in right pink & left light blue as an inspiration to Harley Quinn in Suicide Sqaud! 💜 💙
4. Has a soft spot for children especially towards the orphans including Near(who falls for Misa later on), Mello, Matt & Linda from Wammy's house.
5. Misa is a huge Sonic the hedgehog fan!
6. An excellent cook with her own recipes(maybe a cooking show) that others would find unique & Misa would be one of the best cooks alongside Naomi Misora, Sachiko Yagami, Kanzo Mogi (just like his counterpart in DN), Teru Mikami, & new young character who would be the kouhai (junior)/best friend of Sayu Yagami(with Sayu being a 3rd year & her bff would be a 2nd year in middle school) & possibly become paired with Near despite she might have a crush on Sayu's big bro Light Yagami lol. (Imagine the girl resembling Nanaka Shirakawa from D.C. Da Capo II). 🍳🍔🍟🍝🍕🍖🍗🍤🍣🍱🍜🍙🍛🍲
7. Misa prefers to collect & wear such exotic underwear especially boyshorts, bikini, tanga, thongs & g-strings, & would sometimes sleep either in her undies or lingerie including babydoll, chemise, bralette, & teddy. 💋💋💋💋

Misa can kick ass because she is also a delinquent / femme fatale with very scary anger, a totally violent temper & incredible human strength that would often scare the living shit out of the other characters, so out of fear, they try not to attempt anything that would make Misa pissed off or else they'll end up facing her unstoppable fiery & violent wrath of hell!💀👊🔥 Then in an interview, Ohba or Obata will joke by stating that Misa is now like that because it's all the fault of Light Yagami since he wasn't so nice & loving towards her in DN!😂
10. For love💖💖💖, Misa this time is a tsundere for Light, & it's mostly him that gets his ass kicked by Misa-Misa, plus in NN, Light develops romantic feelings for her💓, so imagine him getting protective around Misa from other guys & jealous whenever Near hogs the sweet hugs & attention from Misa...Near might enjoy tormenting Light like that!😎
11. In the dub of the future NN anime, Misa Amane's voice actress will be Stephanie Sheh who provide best voice roles including Hinata Hyuga of Naruto, Orihime Inoue of Bleach, Yui of Sword Art Online, & Usagi Tsukinno/Sailor Moon in the new SM anime.
& 12. While Sheh voice Misa, how about Johnny Yong Bosch as the NN Light Yagami? Think of the special voice connections between the fello voice actors especially Ichigo Kurosaki x Orihime Inoue(Ichihime in Light x Misa ).💑💏
